Spoilers for Season 1, Episode 10, “The Beast in Me.” O’Hara, the Harrigan family’s lawyer, was the mole. She admits to Harry that she had been passing information to Richie Stevenson. Harry uses her access—and Richie’s trust in her—to set up the finale’s ambush.
How Harry turns the mole into a trap
After Kevin kills Alan Rusby, the prison tormentor he has blamed for years, Harry and Kevin move against Richie. Harry questions O’Hara and learns that she is Richie’s source. Rather than expose her immediately, he lets her go and uses her position to shape Richie’s response.
The plan ends in an ambush that kills Richie and O’Hara, giving the Harrigans the advantage in their war with the Stevensons. Kevin makes the reveal explicit to Conrad: “Archie wasn’t a rat. O’Hara was.” Paramount+ identifies her more fully as O’Hara Delaney, while TVLine’s recap independently confirms her betrayal. Paramount+’s finale explainer and TVLine’s recap describe the reveal and its consequences.
Why Alice is not the Harrigan mole
Alice’s deception is a separate storyline. She is an undercover investigator who befriends Jan to gather information about Conrad and Maeve; she is not the source Richie relied on. Joanne Froggatt’s TV Insider interview discusses Alice’s undercover role.

What the finale reveals about Eddie and the family
Maeve tells Eddie that Conrad is his father, not his grandfather. That makes Eddie’s place in the Harrigan family more direct and raises the stakes of its succession struggle. Kevin also confronts Conrad about the betrayal of Kevin’s parents and signals that he intends to reshape the family after the war with the Stevensons.
The Harrigans defeat Richie’s faction, but Season 1 does not name a settled successor. Paramount+ points to Kevin’s growing confidence, Eddie’s newly understood position, Seraphina’s maneuvering, and Maeve’s continuing influence as sources of future conflict. Any claim about who will ultimately control the family remains speculation, not a resolution confirmed by the finale.

Does Harry survive Jan’s stabbing?
Harry turns down Kat’s offer to join her on a larger stage and returns to the family compound. There, Jan confronts him and accidentally stabs him in the chest. Paramount+ reports that executive producer Jez Butterworth confirmed Harry survives, although his condition is uncertain at the end of the episode.
Froggatt said Jan was “truly horrified” and that the stabbing “wasn’t purposeful.” She suggested the moment might give Harry and Jan a chance to reconnect, but that is her interpretation of the scene—not a confirmed account of what happens next.
