The announcement applied to the 2025 MLS season: qualified T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers could receive complimentary MLS Season Pass, while Xfinity customers received free access to selected Sunday Night Soccer games and MLS 360. The arrangement changed in 2026, when MLS matches moved into the Apple TV subscription and the standalone MLS Season Pass ended.
What was announced for 2025?
MLS and Apple’s 2025 viewing plan combined a full-season wireless promotion, a limited Xfinity offer and a new featured-game presentation called Sunday Night Soccer.
- T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile: Qualified customers, including eligible business customers, could receive MLS Season Pass for the 2025 season at no charge. The announcement said the benefit had no blackout dates. Apple’s announcement did not mean every wireless plan automatically qualified.
- Xfinity: Customers received free access to Sunday Night Soccer and MLS 360 during the 2025 season. That did not provide every MLS match for free.
- Apple TV+ subscribers: Sunday Night Soccer was also made available through Apple TV+, as described in the 2025 announcement.
These were targeted 2025 offers, not a permanent benefit. Readers looking for access now should use the 2026 Apple TV arrangement described below.
What did T-Mobile offer?
The T-Mobile promotion was the broadest of the two provider offers. Qualified T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers could redeem complimentary MLS Season Pass for the full 2025 season, rather than receiving only a handful of featured games. Eligible business customers were included in the announcement, and MLS and Apple said the promotion had no blackout dates.

- 4K High Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision and HDR10) for stunning picture quality
- Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 surround sound
- A10X Fusion chip for ultra-fast graphics and performance
- Voice search by asking the Siri Remote
Eligibility, redemption timing and account requirements depended on the promotion’s terms. “Free” could still require an Apple Account and activation, and an existing paid Apple or MLS subscription could affect how redemption worked. The offer should also not be confused with earlier T-Mobile promotions, including the company’s 2023 MLS Season Pass offer. T-Mobile’s historical offer page is useful context, but it does not establish a current 2026 promotion.
In practical terms, the 2025 T-Mobile route was best for a qualifying customer who wanted the complete MLS package. It was not evidence that all T-Mobile or Metro plans received the benefit, nor that the promotion continued after the 2025 season.
What did Xfinity and Comcast offer?
Comcast’s offer was narrower and should not be described as a free full-season pass.

Free Sunday Night Soccer
Xfinity customers received free access to the selected Sunday Night Soccer matches during the 2025 season. The offer launched on May 18, 2025, during Rivalry Week, with a doubleheader featuring Inter Miami against Orlando City followed by LA Galaxy against LAFC. Those games are historical examples, not a current schedule.

In Xfinity Stream, viewers could open the sports or soccer area and select the available Sunday Night Soccer match.
Access depended on using an eligible Xfinity account and supported platform. A viewer who could not find a game might need to sign in again, check the soccer hub rather than the general channel lineup, or confirm that the promotion was still within its season window.

Free MLS 360
Comcast also gave all Xfinity customers free access to MLS 360, a whip-around studio program that provided live looks and updates from multiple matches. MLS 360 was complementary coverage, not a substitute for watching every match in full.
A separate early-season preview
Before the Sunday Night Soccer offer, Comcast and Apple announced a limited free preview of MLS Season Pass through X1 and Xfinity Stream from February 22 through March 2, 2025. That preview was separate from the later offer of free Sunday Night Soccer for the remainder of the season. Details are documented in Comcast’s integration announcement.

Sunday Night Soccer was a new 2025 presentation built around one highlighted MLS game on Sunday evening. It was not a league-wide schedule change and did not move every MLS match to Sunday night.

The presentation included enhanced production and dedicated studio coverage, along with preview programs titled MLS Countdown and MLS La Previa. The selected games could be watched through the Apple TV app, and the 2025 announcement also described access for Apple TV+ subscribers and Xfinity customers.
The distinction matters: Sunday Night Soccer was a featured weekly package. MLS Season Pass, by contrast, was the broader 2025 product covering the league’s full match offering and related programming, subject to its terms.
Which viewers got what in 2025?
| Viewing route | Included in 2025 | Not automatically included |
|---|---|---|
| Qualified T-Mobile or Metro customer | MLS Season Pass for the season | Eligibility for every wireless plan |
| Xfinity customer | Sunday Night Soccer and MLS 360 | The complete MLS Season Pass catalog |
| Apple TV+ subscriber | Sunday Night Soccer, as announced | Every MLS match through Apple TV+ alone |
| MLS Season Pass subscriber | The full 2025 package and related programming | A standalone service after the 2025 season |
What changed in 2026?
Apple’s support documentation says the standalone MLS Season Pass ended after the 2025 season. MLS likewise announced that, beginning with the 2026 season, its matches would be included with an Apple TV subscription at no additional MLS Season Pass charge. This means current viewers should not search for a separate MLS Season Pass checkout or assume that a 2025 provider promotion will renew.
Existing subscribers were subject to Apple’s account-specific billing and renewal process. Apple said billing for the standalone product would stop after 2025, but readers with an old subscription should check their Apple Account and current subscription settings rather than rely on archived redemption instructions.
For current device and platform information, consult Apple’s MLS viewing page. Apple lists access through compatible Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, eligible Android devices and the web; compatibility can vary by device and operating-system version.
Which option made sense?
- For a qualifying T-Mobile customer in 2025: The wireless promotion was potentially the best route because it covered the full season rather than selected games.
- For an existing Xfinity customer in 2025: Sunday Night Soccer and MLS 360 provided useful free coverage without buying the complete package, but they did not unlock every match.
- For someone who wanted only featured games: Sunday Night Soccer was more suitable than paying for the full 2025 Season Pass, where available through the announced platforms.
- For a viewer in 2026: Apple TV is the relevant current product. Check Apple’s live signup flow for the current price, promotional terms and regional availability; those details can change.
- For an MLS season-ticket buyer: MLS said 2026 full-season ticket packages would include an Apple TV subscription. That benefit is most relevant to someone already considering season tickets, not someone seeking soccer access alone. See the MLS announcement for the stated arrangement.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Calling every Xfinity match free: The 2025 Xfinity offer covered Sunday Night Soccer and MLS 360, not automatically the entire MLS schedule.
- Treating “free MLS Season Pass” as one thing: It could mean a full-season T-Mobile promotion, selected Xfinity programming or the 2026 inclusion of MLS content within Apple TV.
- Using expired redemption pages: A 2025 T-Mobile or Xfinity instruction page may no longer activate anything.
- Assuming the offer was permanent: The provider promotions were tied to the 2025 season.
- Confusing Sunday Night Soccer with a new league schedule: It was a selected featured-game presentation, not a claim that all matches moved to Sunday evenings.
- Publishing an unverified current price: Apple’s live purchase flow is the appropriate place to confirm 2026 pricing and promotions.
The short timeline
- January 29, 2025: Comcast and Apple announced Xfinity integration, free MLS 360 access and an early free preview.
- February 22–March 2, 2025: Xfinity’s MLS Season Pass preview ran through X1 and Xfinity Stream.
- May 15, 2025: Comcast announced free Sunday Night Soccer access for Xfinity customers.
- May 18, 2025: The Sunday Night Soccer free-access offer began.
- End of 2025: Standalone MLS Season Pass ended.
- 2026: MLS matches became part of the Apple TV subscription.
The accurate takeaway is therefore historical and current at the same time: T-Mobile’s full-season offer and Xfinity’s Sunday-night access were real 2025 promotions, while the product a fan uses for MLS in 2026 is Apple TV rather than a separate MLS Season Pass.
