Maxwell Friedman, better known as MJF, has joined the cast of Violent Night 2, Universal Pictures confirms. His character has not been announced. The sequel is scheduled for a US theatrical release on December 4, 2026; the date is announced and may change.
Is MJF in Violent Night 2?
Yes. Universal Pictures Canada lists “AEW professional wrestler Maxwell Friedman” among the cast, and Japanese distributor Toho-Towa also names him in its official announcement. The studio materials reviewed do not identify the character he plays, so claims assigning him a specific role remain unconfirmed.

When does Violent Night 2 come out?
Universal’s US release listing gives the theatrical date as December 4, 2026, a Friday. Toho-Towa announced a simultaneous US and Japan release for that date. These are announced dates, not a guarantee that schedules will remain unchanged; viewers elsewhere should check local listings.
What is Violent Night 2 about?
Universal’s synopsis places Santa in a mall community threatened by a ruthless gangster. Santa has lost his magic and must find another way to help, while Mrs. Claus joins the fight. Universal’s official synopsis/tagline reads: “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good fight.”

Who is in the cast?
David Harbour returns as Santa Claus, Kristen Bell plays Mrs. Claus, and Jared Harris plays the gangster, according to Universal. The studio also lists Joe Pantoliano, Daniela Melchior, Andrew Bachelor and Maxwell Friedman.
