Verdict: The Mixx Analog+ is a genuinely unusual source component: a fully automatic belt-drive turntable with a top-loading CD player built into the centre of its platter. At the UK price listed on 18 August 2026 (£299), it makes sense for listeners who want one compact machine for records and CDs, plus Bluetooth headphone or speaker output. It is not a complete stereo system, and its sound—especially from CD—is behind what similarly priced separate hi-fi components can deliver.
Buy it for convenience, automatic operation and format flexibility. Choose a conventional turntable and separate CD player if detail, dynamics and future upgrades matter more than having everything in one enclosure.
What the Mixx Analog+ actually is
The Analog+ combines a fully automatic belt-drive turntable, an integrated CD/CD-R/CD-RW player, a built-in phono stage, RCA line output and Bluetooth 5.3 audio transmission. Its most distinctive feature is the CD mechanism: the disc loads under a clear lid in the centre of the record platter rather than in a conventional front drawer. Mixx describes the product on its official product page and specification page.
Despite the “all-in-one” appearance, speakers are not built in. You need powered speakers, an amplifier and passive speakers, or Bluetooth headphones/speakers. The unit sends audio over Bluetooth; it is not documented as a Bluetooth receiver for playing music from a phone.

The official documentation lists 16-bit, 44.1 kHz CD playback and additional WAV sample rates, but also displays “21kHz” in its sample-rate information. That figure is unusual and should be treated as an apparent documentation error unless Mixx confirms it.
Design and everyday operation
The slim MDF plinth, rubberised controls, crisp front display and included infrared remote give the Analog+ a more considered feel than many entry-level Bluetooth turntables. The automatic mechanism is smooth, and the dust cover is included. Reviewers did note low-level operating whirring, the lack of a finger lift on the tonearm and no safety clip to secure the arm in its rest.
The player starts in CD mode by default. In CD mode, the display shows track and time information; in vinyl mode it shows the selected speed and record size. A disc can remain loaded while a record is played when the appropriate mode is selected. What Hi-Fi? observed that the CD may sometimes stop visibly spinning while playback continues, consistent with the player using a memory buffer rather than indicating a fault.

Playing a CD
- Switch on and confirm CD mode.
- Press the lower edge of the clear lid to release it.
- Place the disc on the loading area and close the lid.
- Use the front controls or remote for play, pause, skip, repeat and stop.
- Set listening volume on the amplifier, powered speakers or headphones.
The support instructions are available from Mixx support.
Playing a record
- Select vinyl/record mode.
- Choose 7-inch or 12-inch record size.
- Choose 33⅓ or 45 rpm.
- Place the record on the platter and press play.
- Let the mechanism cue, lift and return the tonearm automatically.
- Use repeat if you want the side to replay.
The tonearm and cartridge are effectively a fixed system. A damaged AT3600L can be replaced like-for-like, but there is little meaningful adjustment for experimenting with other cartridges, tracking forces or alignment geometries. The built-in phono stage cannot be bypassed, and there is no USB output for recording records to a computer.
Connections and setup requirements
For a wired system, connect the RCA output to powered speakers or to a line/AUX input on an amplifier or receiver. Because the phono stage is built in, a separate phono preamp should not be required. Use a line-level input rather than assuming a phono input is appropriate. The rear selector chooses RCA or Bluetooth output; volume is controlled by the receiving equipment.

For wireless listening, put the Bluetooth speaker or headphones into pairing mode, set the Analog+ to Bluetooth output and select the player on the receiving device. Bluetooth is useful for casual listening and avoiding speaker cables, but it involves wireless codec compression and does not preserve a completely analogue vinyl signal path. What Hi-Fi? identifies AAC and SBC support; Bluetooth 5.3 alone does not imply lossless audio.
For first use, fit the platter mat and stylus, locate the 45 rpm adapter beside the platter, attach the dust cover, connect the supplied power adapter and then connect RCA equipment or prepare a Bluetooth receiver. The official setup guidance is on the product support page.

Vinyl playback
What Hi-Fi? found the record side fairly stable, balanced and reasonably clear, with a punchy midrange. It was more enjoyable than the CD section, but dynamics, deep-bass impact, subtle detail and spaciousness were limited compared with the Sony PS-LX3BT and conventional turntables. Those are listening-test observations, not laboratory measurements; the review is at What Hi-Fi?.

CD playback
What Hi-Fi? described the CD presentation as muddled, small-scale and dynamically compressed, with weak separation and detail. New Atlas had a more forgiving assessment, finding playback reliable and reasonably crisp through a budget Marantz amplifier, while still hearing a clear gap behind its Audiolab CD transport. The difference reflects expectations: New Atlas assessed an affordable combination system, whereas What Hi-Fi? compared it with dedicated hi-fi equipment. Read the latter review at New Atlas.
In practical terms, CDs will play reliably for background listening and ordinary use, but this is not the reason to buy the Analog+ if extracting maximum information from a CD collection is your priority.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Ownership limitations and troubleshooting
- No sound: Check the rear output selector, the amplifier input, speaker power and the external volume control.
- Bluetooth will not connect: Confirm the receiver is in pairing mode and that Bluetooth output is selected.
- It starts in CD mode: This is the normal default; switch deliberately to record mode.
- The record starts at the wrong place: Recheck the selected record size and speed.
- The CD appears to stop: Playback can continue while the internal memory buffer is supplying audio.
- Hum or noise: Check RCA routing, amplifier grounding and whether the problem occurs only on the wired output.
Its fixed tonearm, non-bypassable phono stage and lack of USB recording make the Analog+ a relatively closed system. It is easy to use, but it is not a strong platform for gradual hi-fi upgrading.

Mixx Analog+ versus the alternatives
| Option | What you gain | What you give up |
|---|---|---|
| Mixx Analog+ | One compact automatic source for records and CDs; RCA and Bluetooth output | Limited upgradeability and weaker CD performance than dedicated equipment |

Price, availability and who should buy it
The official UK price listed on 18 August 2026 was £299, although the product page showed “Notify Me When In Stock” or “Sold Out” for at least one colour variant. US pricing and availability should not be assumed from older reports that anticipated a roughly $300 launch.
Choose the Analog+ if you want
- One compact source for vinyl and CDs.
- Fully automatic operation with minimal setup.
- Bluetooth headphones or speakers as an output option.
- A distinctive physical-media system for casual or background listening.
- No separate phono preamp.
Choose something else if you want
- The best possible vinyl detail, bass and dynamics at this budget.
- A serious CD source.
- Adjustable tracking force, cartridge experimentation or a bypassable phono stage.
- USB recording, built-in speakers or Bluetooth input from a phone.
- A completely analogue signal path from record to speakers.
The Mixx Analog+ is best understood as one convenient source that plays two physical formats acceptably—not as two high-quality components for the price of one. That distinction makes the buying decision straightforward: it is a clever lifestyle system for convenience-first listeners, but a compromised choice for anyone building an upgradeable hi-fi system.
