Players considering another platform should check its Marketplace listing before buying; the Xbox US store lists the content for $8.99, a regional price that may change.
What is the Minecraft Stranger Things crossover?
It is digital Marketplace DLC, not a standalone physical game. Mojang describes an adventure through Hawkins in which players can use characters’ distinct abilities and take on quests. Eleven uses telekinetic powers, Dr. Brenner accesses laboratory panels, Suzie solves codes, Eddie leads a D&D campaign, and Vecna controls minds. Players can switch characters and team up with friends in multiplayer. The promotional description also features bikes and Hopper’s car, but does not establish a level count or specify which parts of the series the adventure covers.
Mojang says the DLC requires Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, sold separately. Minecraft’s official Stranger Things DLC page describes the adventure and its requirements.
Why can’t I get the Minecraft Stranger Things DLC on Switch?
Mojang’s official page states: “With this in mind, we are unable to deliver the Stranger Things DLC on the Nintendo Switch system at this time.” The wording confirms the current limitation but does not explain its cause or say whether availability will change. Buying Minecraft or an accessory for Switch will not remove the stated DLC restriction.

Is Minecraft Stranger Things DLC available on Switch 2?
Nintendo announced that Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 would arrive on October 27, 2026, and said supported Marketplace content could be enjoyed there. That general announcement does not confirm that this particular Stranger Things DLC is supported. Check for a title-specific update before assuming it will work on Switch 2. Nintendo’s Switch 2 announcement addresses Minecraft and Marketplace content generally.
Which platforms and devices should players check?
The official DLC page says Bedrock Edition is required and sets a minimum of 6 GB RAM for mobile. It does not provide a complete device-by-device compatibility list. The Xbox US listing identifies Minecraft for Windows as playable on that particular listing; it is not a comprehensive list of supported platforms.

Before purchasing, confirm that the Stranger Things Marketplace listing is available on your platform and that you have the required Bedrock game. Mojang’s official DLC page is the source for the Switch restriction and mobile memory requirement.

The Xbox US store listing shows the Stranger Things world at $8.99 and gives a release date of December 1, 2025. The price is specific to the US listing and may change; check your regional store for current availability and price. Xbox’s US listing also says Minecraft is required and sold separately.

Mojang’s page said the Hellfire Club T-shirt character creator item was free until January 25, 2026 at 10 a.m. PT, then available for purchase. That free period has ended; the page does not establish its current price.
