City of Wanneroo records confirm New Year’s Eve fireworks at The Marina, Mindarie, in the 2023–24 season and list Mindarie NYE fireworks again in its 2024–25 annual report. The available official records do not verify the headline’s claim that the event was “hailed a roaring success,” give an attendance figure, or promise that it will continue every year.
What happened at The Marina, Mindarie?
The City of Wanneroo’s What’s Happening, December 2023 to February 2024 publication said: “New Year’s Eve fireworks are returning to The Marina, Mindarie.” For that season, the City described a free, family-friendly event beginning at 5pm, with food stalls, entertainment and live music; fireworks were scheduled for 8:30pm. The City said it sponsored the event. These are details for the 2023–24 season, not a current event notice. City of Wanneroo event publication
Do official records confirm it was a “roaring success”?
No. The located City materials do not assess the event as a success, identify anyone who made that assessment, or report attendance or economic impact. The headline’s “roaring success” wording therefore remains unverified against the available official records.
Was there a plan to make the fireworks annual?
The City of Wanneroo’s Annual Report 2024–2025 lists “Mindarie NYE fireworks” among its event records, confirming a later edition was recorded. That supports recurrence, but the report does not establish a commitment to hold the event every year in future. City of Wanneroo Annual Report 2024–2025
