Miley Cyrus was 31 when Disney named her a Disney Legend in 2024, making her the youngest honoree ever according to D23. The honor recognized her in Music and Television, reflecting a Disney career closely associated with Hannah Montana.
How old was Miley Cyrus when she became a Disney Legend?
D23 says Cyrus was 31 when she received the distinction, describing her as the youngest person ever named a Disney Legend. That is Disney’s record claim; the cited profile does not provide a separate age-by-age audit of every past honoree. D23’s Disney Legend profile also quotes her saying, “Having an interesting life makes for interesting storytelling.”
What was the Disney Legend honor?
Cyrus was part of the 2024 Disney Legends class and was recognized in the Music and Television categories. The Walt Disney Company said it honored 14 new Legends that year. Disney’s announcement of the 2024 class named Cyrus among the honorees.
When and where was the ceremony?
The ceremony took place August 11, 2024, at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. It closed D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which Disney described as a three-day fan event. The official ceremony recap covers the evening’s recognitions and tributes.

Why is Hannah Montana central to her Disney legacy?
Cyrus’s Disney story is most closely tied to Hannah Montana, which premiered on March 24, 2006. D23 says she began acting at eight, auditioned for the lead at 13, and won the role despite initially being considered too young. D23 also describes the premiere as the largest-ever audience for a Disney Channel Original Series; its profile gives no audience figure.
The franchise reached beyond television. D23 lists soundtracks, a feature film, home-entertainment releases, books, apparel and accessories, video games, and a concert tour among its extensions. Those projects help explain why the Legend profile places Cyrus in both Music and Television rather than treating her Disney connection as a single television role.
