Pam persuades her cautious husband, Mack, to take their children south for winter, with Jamaica as their destination and New York City along the way. What works: color, movement, and comic voices
The film’s clearest strength is its visual energy. The Associated Press’ Jake Coyle praised its warm cartoon palette, writing, “Migration” is vividly animated with warm cartoon tones that would do Daffy proud. But it never quite spreads its wings. He gave the film two and a half stars out of four.

The voice cast adds buoyancy to the family’s journey, and the succession of new places and situations keeps the adventure moving. Rotten Tomatoes’ consensus also highlights the animation and voice performances, while finding that the story does not stand out.
Where the story falls short
Mack’s movement from cautious parent to someone willing to embrace adventure is a familiar family-film arc. The journey supplies colorful encounters, but its episodic detours do not build a particularly distinctive narrative identity. That makes Migration a better fit for viewers who value visual invention and light comedy over a fresh or deeply developed plot.
Is Migration appropriate for young children?
Content guidance depends on the country. In the United States, Universal gives Migration a PG rating for action/peril and mild rude humor. In the United Kingdom, the BBFC describes very mild threat, violence, and rude humour, noting pursuit and storm sequences as well as a threatening chef.
