Mickey Guyton performed John Lennon’s “Imagine” in Times Square shortly before midnight on December 31, 2024, as the city welcomed 2025. The official schedule placed her performance from 11:55 to 11:58 p.m. on the Planet Fitness Center Stage, just before the final countdown.
When did Mickey Guyton perform “Imagine”?
The Times Square Alliance, One Times Square and Countdown Entertainment announced the performance on December 12, 2024. The official event schedule later listed “Imagine” for 11:55–11:58 p.m. on December 31, immediately ahead of the 11:59 p.m. countdown. The organizers’ announcement and the event schedule identify the timing and stage.

What else was in Guyton’s set?
Alongside Lennon’s song, organizers announced three Guyton songs: “My Side of the Country,” “House on Fire” and “All American.” The schedule positioned “Imagine” as the late-night performance immediately before the countdown.
Did the performance take place?
Yes. In a January 31, 2025 retrospective release, Guyton’s label, MCA, described her as singing “Imagine” as the final Times Square performer before the Ball dropped. That account confirms the performance took place. MCA’s release discusses the Times Square appearance in retrospect.

How was the event distributed?
The organizers described live webcast and TV pool feed coverage of the celebration. That establishes the event’s distribution context, but not whether every television network aired Guyton’s full performance; individual broadcasts may have edited the event differently.
