The highest purchase price in the available press reports is $4.3 million for Michael C. Hall’s Manhattan apartment at the Eldorado. Other documented purchases include a Los Feliz home bought for $3.825 million in 2013 and a Hollywood Hills home bought for $1.75 million in 2008. These are reported real-estate transactions, not a complete list of Hall’s expensive purchases or proof of what he owns today.
Reported purchases at a glance
| Property | Reported purchase price and date | Other reported transaction | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manhattan’s Eldorado co-op, Upper West Side | $4.3 million; reported in 2017 | No later sale established in the cited coverage | Trulia and Observer |
| Los Feliz home, Los Angeles | $3.825 million; bought in 2013 | Sold for $4.85 million in 2016 | Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Times |
| Hollywood Hills home, Los Angeles | $1.75 million; bought in 2008 | Sold for $1,937,500 in 2012 | Los Angeles Times |
The amounts are not directly comparable measures of value: the transactions occurred in different years and involve different kinds of homes and neighborhoods. The Los Feliz and Hollywood Hills sale figures are later sales, not what Hall paid.
Manhattan: Eldorado co-op reported at $4.3 million
Trulia and the Observer reported in 2017 that Hall and Morgan Macgregor paid $4.3 million for a two-bedroom co-op in the Eldorado, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Trulia described the apartment as having three bathrooms and roughly 2,200 square feet; the Observer also reported the two-bedroom layout and price.
The coverage mentioned a renovation, a wood-burning fireplace, and Miele kitchen appliances. Those are features of the apartment, not evidence that Hall made separate high-value purchases of those items.
Los Feliz: bought for $3.825 million, sold for $4.85 million
The Los Angeles Times reported that Hall bought a restored 1920s Spanish Colonial home in Los Feliz for $3.825 million in 2013. The property had six bedrooms, six bathrooms, more than 5,600 square feet, a guesthouse, a swimming pool, and hillside and city views. The Times later described the compound as 5,618 square feet, with a guesthouse, pool, and separate three-car garage.
In 2016, Hall sold the property for $4.85 million, the asking price reported at the time. That figure is the sale price—not Hall’s purchase price. Architectural Digest also covered the $4.85 million listing and confirmed the 2013 purchase price; a listing price by itself should not be mistaken for an amount paid by Hall.
Rank #2
Hollywood Hills: bought for $1.75 million
The Los Angeles Times reported that Hall bought a 3,525-square-foot Hollywood Hills home for $1.75 million in 2008. It had four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a gym, and a pool. The Times reported that he sold it in 2012 for $1,937,500. That later sale price is distinct from the reported amount he paid.

Among the purchases documented in this coverage, the Eldorado co-op has the highest reported purchase price at $4.3 million. The figures describe selected property deals covered by the press; they do not establish a comprehensive ranking of everything Hall has bought. The historical reports also do not establish his current ownership, occupancy, or the properties’ present-day values.
