At Metallica’s November 19, 2025, concert at Eden Park in Auckland, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo played two songs by New Zealand acts: Split Enz’s “I Got You” and Six60’s “Don’t Forget Your Roots.”
Two New Zealand songs in the show
Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s review of the concert reports that guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo honored the host country with Split Enz’s “I Got You” and Six60’s “Don’t Forget Your Roots.” The review was published November 20, the day after the performance. Rolling Stone AU/NZ

Rolling Stone AU/NZ described the show as Metallica’s first in New Zealand in 15 years. The band’s archive records earlier New Zealand appearances in 2010, 2004, 1998, 1993 and 1989, and confirms two Auckland dates were cancelled in 2019. Metallica’s concert archive

How the covers fit the published setlist
Metallica’s official listing publishes a 15-song set, opening with “Creeping Death” and closing with “Enter Sandman.” It does not include the two New Zealand covers. The covers are reported in the Rolling Stone AU/NZ review, so the two sources provide separate accounts rather than a single reconciled song total.
The review also places “Seek & Destroy,” from Metallica’s debut album Kill ’Em All, in the performance. Hetfield told the crowd, “I’ll speak for myself, I have the best job in the whole fucking world,” as quoted by Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
