INBELLA republished a report on January 28, 2025, saying Meghan was planning to attend the opening ceremony with Prince Harry. The article attributed the claim to unnamed sources speaking to Express; it did not cite an official announcement. When and where the Games took place
The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 ran from February 8 to 16 in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia. The opening ceremony was held at BC Place in Vancouver on February 8, and the closing ceremony took place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on February 16. The official event overview and the schedule announcement give the event details.
The Games are an adaptive-sport competition for wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans. The 2025 program included winter and indoor sports, among them Alpine Skiing and Snowboard, Nordic Skiing, Biathlon, Skeleton, Wheelchair Curling, Indoor Rowing, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Wheelchair Rugby and Wheelchair Basketball. The event’s advance description said it was designed for up to 550 competitors from up to 25 nations; those were maximums, not final participation figures.

The Games are over; the attendance claim remains unconfirmed
The official closing announcement dated the conclusion to February 16, 2025. It reported 11,532 attendees at the closing ceremony. The announcement and the official final report document the event’s conclusion and results. Neither the official event material reviewed here nor the original report independently confirms Meghan’s presence or absence.
The final report records 534 competitors from 23 nations and 11 adaptive-sport competitions. It also estimates that 125,000 spectators attended in venues and reports 1.7 million unique Canadian viewers for the Opening Ceremony broadcasts on TSN and CTV. These are post-event figures published by the Games; the audience figures are not presented here as independently audited.

Why the event mattered beyond the reported appearance
The Invictus Games center on sport as part of recovery for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans. In the official September 5, 2024 schedule announcement, Prince Harry described that purpose: “Sport has the ability to heal, to change lives and to save lives. For so many of these competitors getting to the start line has been one of the hardest moments of their life but at the Games, their lives are changed.” Read the schedule announcement.
