Meghan Markle shared a previously unseen video of herself and Prince Harry dancing in a hospital room before the birth of their daughter, Lilibet. She posted the four-year-old footage on June 4, 2025, for Lilibet’s fourth birthday. The clip and Meghan’s caption tell a personal story; they do not show that dancing induces labor.
What the video shows
In the clip, Meghan and Harry dance together in a hospital room before Lilibet’s birth. Reports identify the accompanying track as Starrkeisha’s “Baby Mama”; ABC News refers to it as “The Baby Momma Dance.” The footage was retrospective, not a video of a newly filmed event.
The Independent’s June 5, 2025 report described the video and its birthday context. ABC News reported on June 16, 2025 that the footage was four years old and named the song.
Why Meghan shared it
Meghan posted the clip on June 4, 2025, as part of her posts marking Lilibet’s fourth birthday. In her caption, she said both of her children had been a week past their due dates. She described trying spicy food, walking and acupuncture before writing, “When spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do.” That is her account of the couple’s approach, not medical advice.

In a promotional clip for her interview on the “Aspire with Emma Grede” podcast, Meghan said the video was four years old and explained why she valued sharing moments herself: “I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.” ABC News quoted her saying the footage was “a really great reminder” that “there’s a whole life — a real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.”

- It establishes: the video depicts Meghan and Harry dancing in a hospital room before Lilibet’s birth, and Meghan shared it for her daughter’s fourth birthday.
- It does not establish: that dancing brought on labor, what method of birth was used, or that the couple’s anecdote is evidence of a clinical effect.
The reports cited here describe the clip and Meghan’s caption; they do not establish the current availability of the original post or provide independent evidence about the birth circumstances.
