A federal jury found blogger Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, known online as Milagro Gramz, liable to Megan Thee Stallion on three claims and awarded $75,000, ABC News reported on December 1, 2025. Later proceedings changed the judgment amount temporarily: Complex reported that a judge reinstated the full $75,000 in May 2026 after an earlier $16,000 reduction. Cooper later filed an amended notice of appeal, according to Complex; the available reporting does not establish a later appellate decision.
What the jury found
The case was Megan Pete v. Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, No. 24-24228-CIV-ALTONAGA, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The verdict form identifies Megan Pete—the performer known as Megan Thee Stallion—as the plaintiff and Cooper as the defendant.
On December 1, 2025, the jury found Cooper liable for:
- Defamation per se: The verdict form asked jurors about statements accusing Pete of perjury or falsely lying under oath in a criminal trial.
- Intentional infliction of emotional distress.
- Promotion of an altered sexual depiction.
“Deepfake” is often used as a shorthand in coverage, but the verdict form calls the claim “promotion of an altered sexual depiction.” The jury’s findings are specific to this case; they do not establish a general rule about online speech or altered images.

How much was Megan Thee Stallion awarded?
ABC News reported that the jury awarded Pete $75,000 in total damages. The handwritten figures on the verdict form are difficult to read in extracted text, so a component-by-component breakdown should not be inferred from that text.

After the verdict, Pete’s attorney Mari Henderson said: “This verdict sends a clear message that spreading dangerous misinformation carries significant consequences.” That was Henderson’s statement on Pete’s behalf, as reported by ABC News, not a statement of the court’s reasoning.
Did the judge change the $75,000 verdict?
Complex reported a post-trial sequence in which the judgment amount changed, although the jury’s liability findings remained the distinct issue:

- December 1, 2025: The jury found Cooper liable and awarded $75,000, according to ABC News and the verdict-form docket entry.
- After trial: Complex reported that an initial ruling reduced the judgment by $16,000 after Cooper was treated as a media defendant.
- May 2026: Complex reported that Judge Cecilia Altonaga reinstated the full $75,000 judgment.
- June 30, 2026: Complex reported that Cooper filed an amended notice of appeal reflecting the updated judgment.
These figures describe the reported procedural history of this case, not a general damages formula. The available reporting establishes the amended appeal notice, but not whether a later appellate decision or docket event followed. It also does not establish that the judgment has been paid.
Complex’s report on the post-trial ruling and appeal notice describes the reduction, reinstatement, and appeal filing.

What did the parties say at trial?
ABC News reported that Pete testified Cooper took part in a targeted, coordinated social-media campaign to harass, intimidate, and defame her. Cooper testified that she discussed the shooting without influence from Tory Lanez, and acknowledged speaking with Peterson and receiving payments from his father, which she characterized as personal or promotional. These are accounts of testimony; they should not be confused with findings beyond the claims the jury decided.

Yes. TMZ reported that on April 20, 2026, a judge denied a separate request for a permanent cyberstalking injunction. That was a different legal request from the damages case. Its denial did not reverse the jury’s liability findings or, by itself, undo the damages judgment.
