In the U.S., it began April 1, 2025, with an adult meal and a separate Happy Meal; the adult meal came with one of six collectibles, while the Happy Meal included one of 12 toys and a digital quest code. The official U.S. game-code deadlines have passed. Dates, food choices and Happy Meal items differed by country.
What McDonald’s announced in the U.S.
McDonald’s USA announced the campaign on March 20, 2025, with both meals scheduled to launch nationwide on April 1 for a limited time. The adult meal paired a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets with medium fries and a drink, plus one of six limited-edition collectibles. The McNuggets meal also included Nether Flame Sauce, a limited-edition hot sauce described as inspired by the Nether, with crushed red pepper, flaming cayenne, garlic and sweetness. McDonald’s U.S. announcement
The Happy Meal was a separate offer: it included one of 12 film-inspired figurines or Block World toys and a code to scan for a digital quest. The U.S. announcement described a campaign quest; it did not establish that an old printed code remains redeemable now. McDonald’s U.S. announcement
Adult collectibles and Happy Meal toys
McDonald’s global campaign article described six adult-meal collectibles and 12 Happy Meal Blockhead or Block World toys. Examples of adult collectibles included a Grimace Egg inspired by the Minecraft Dragon egg and a Big Mac Crystal. Each adult collectible came with a matching card and a code for a Minecraft skin. Qualifying app purchases or points also had an additional add-on pack offer. McDonald’s global campaign article

The global campaign description indicates the size of the overall toy and collectible lineup, not a promise that every item was stocked at every restaurant. Physical selection and availability could vary by location and while supplies lasted.
How long was the McDonald’s Minecraft Movie Meal available?
In the U.S., the meals were announced as limited-time offers scheduled to start April 1, 2025. The announcement did not specify one universal restaurant end date. The digital promotion had its own explicit deadlines, but those do not establish the end date for every market’s food promotion.

The separate add-on pack campaign ran April 1 through June 12, 2025, while supplies lasted, with codes redeemable through December 31, 2025. Codes were single-use, required internet access and a Microsoft account, and unlocked skins for Minecraft Bedrock Edition; Java Edition was excluded. Official U.S. promotion terms
Those U.S. terms do not give a universal end date for the restaurant promotion in other countries. Nor do the announcements confirm present-day restaurant stock or current availability of resale listings.

How the U.S. and UK/Ireland offers differed
The campaign was not identical in every market. McDonald’s UK and Ireland announced a March 26, 2025 Happy Meal start, earlier than the U.S. schedule, and offered an adventure book as an alternative to one of 12 toys. Named toy examples included Evoker, Bee, Skeleton, Sheep, Creeper, Grass Block, Llama, Stone Block and Garret. McDonald’s UK/Ireland toy announcement

McDonald’s UK/Ireland meal announcement | One of 12 toys or an adventure book option. McDonald’s UK/Ireland toy announcement | About £3.99 for a Happy Meal and £8.19 for a medium adult meal in the 2025 announcement; restaurant prices could vary. The UK/Ireland menu and book option should not be assumed to apply in the U.S. or elsewhere. McDonald’s described the global campaign as reaching 100 markets in the days after launch, but local start dates, menu choices and toys varied. McDonald’s global campaign article

What was reported after the campaign
On August 6, 2025, the Associated Press reported McDonald’s as saying the promotion ran in 100 countries and that its collectible figures sold out in less than two weeks. The report did not provide a unit-sales figure, so the sell-through statement cannot be converted into a count of toys sold. Associated Press report
McDonald’s UK cited a February 2025 Mortar survey of 2,000 UK parents of children aged 4–11. In that survey, 65% of respondents said fun and excitement were their highest priority when choosing toys for children, and 54% said toys improved communication and enhanced creativity. These are attributed survey findings, not independent measurements of this campaign’s effect. McDonald’s UK toy announcement
Can you still get the toys or redeem a code?
The promotion announcements do not establish current restaurant stock or confirm any current resale listings. The fact that the figures reportedly sold out quickly during the campaign is historical context, not evidence that a particular seller has an item now. A shopper looking for resale items can search a marketplace for “A Minecraft Movie toys,” but should check listing details, condition, seller information and whether the item is an authentic campaign toy; availability is not guaranteed.
For U.S. digital codes, the stated skin and add-on pack redemption deadlines were in 2025 and have passed. Because the Happy Meal quest was a separate digital benefit, do not assume an unused printed code still works; check the live service rather than relying on the original packaging or announcement.
