Marvel’s film once known as Captain America 4 is officially titled Captain America: Brave New World. Its first-look images put Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson—now Captain America—in focus and show him facing Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross. The film was released in the United States on February 14, 2025.
What the first-look images show
A secondary report says the images were published by Entertainment Weekly after footage was screened for CinemaCon attendees. It describes one image of Sam Wilson with Captain America’s shield and another showing Wilson facing Thaddeus Ross. The original Entertainment Weekly item and the exact date the images appeared have not been independently confirmed, so the publication timeline should be treated cautiously.

Who Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford play
Disney’s official teaser description identifies Mackie as Captain America and Ford as Thaddeus Ross. Disney and Marvel list both actors in the film’s cast. The first-look pairing therefore brings Wilson’s new role as Captain America into view alongside Ross, a character played by Ford.
The official title and release date
The final official title is Captain America: Brave New World, rather than the informal shorthand Captain America 4. Disney lists the U.S. release date as February 14, 2025; that date has passed.
