A Minecraft Movie has two scenes after the credits begin: a mid-credits proposal involving Vice Principal Marlene and a Villager/Nitwit, followed by a final scene that introduces Alex, a major character from the game. Director Jared Hess discussed the character reveal and floated a possible spinoff idea, but his comments do not confirm that a sequel or spinoff has been approved.
How many post-credits scenes does A Minecraft Movie have?
There are two. The first appears midway through the credits; the second comes after the remaining credits. Their purposes differ: one delivers a romantic joke, while the other teases a character and a possible new corner of the Minecraft world. GameSpot’s April 3, 2025 ending report describes both scenes, and Forbes’s April 4, 2025 guide independently confirms their order.

What happens in the mid-credits scene?
Vice Principal Marlene, played by Jennifer Coolidge, is reunited with the Villager/Nitwit she met earlier. He has learned to speak human and proposes to her. The character is voiced by Matt Berry, whose voice is the cameo in the scene.
In an April 4, 2025 report, CinemaBlend quoted Hess praising Berry and imagining a Coolidge-and-Berry spinoff: “He is one of the funniest people on the planet. Oh my gosh, if we could just do the spinoff movie with Jennifer Coolidge and Matt Berry as the nitwit lover, I think it would be pretty incredible.” That is Hess’s playful hypothetical, not an announcement that a spinoff is in development.

What is revealed in the final post-credits scene?
Steve returns to the house where he once lived. Its new resident introduces herself as Alex and mentions a chest in the attic. GameSpot reports that Alex’s face is not shown, so the scene signals her arrival without giving viewers a full on-screen introduction.
Alex is not an arbitrary name or an unrelated celebrity cameo: she is a major Minecraft character. Hess described her as “one of the massively iconic characters, right on equal ground with Steve.” ComingSoon’s April 3, 2025 scene guide reports that Alex was introduced as a playable character in Java Edition in 2014.

Does the ending confirm a sequel?
No. Hess spoke about the many parts of the game world the film had not used, saying: “I mean, there’s so many biomes, so many crazy, amazing characters and creatures we haven’t even touched on.” He also said, “You can’t fit everything in one movie, so you’ve got to kind of parse it out thinking ahead,” and added that the team would be excited to return if the film did well. These comments express interest in future possibilities; they do not confirm a greenlit sequel.
