Marvel’s November 2024 solicitations, published on August 22, 2024, previewed a slate of comic issues, variants and collected editions. “November” named the solicitation slate, not the on-sale month for every item: the announced schedule included releases in later months, and Marvel warned that dates could change.
What stood out in the November 2024 slate
The announcement highlighted the beginning of “8 Deaths of Spider-Man,” a Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness arc in Amazing Spider-Man; a new West Coast Avengers series; and Psylocke #1. The broader list also covered ongoing series, event-related issues, facsimile editions and collections.
Examples across the slate included Avengers, Blood Hunters, Venom War, X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man, Wolverine, Star Wars: Battle of Jakku and Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay. AIPT’s issue-by-issue roundup gives creators and variant-cover details: Full November 2024 Marvel Comics solicitations: 8 Deaths of Spider-Man and more.
Solicitation month is not the same as release month
The list was published in August 2024 as a preview of the November slate. Its entries carried scheduled on-sale dates, some extending beyond November. For instance, the Web of Spider-Man Omnibus Vol. 1 hardcover was listed for March 2025, making it a collected edition announced in the solicitation rather than a November release. The collection listing and its contents appear in Comic Releases’ November 2024 solicitations.

Marvel’s release calendar provides an independent date check for selected historical releases, including issues dated November 13 and November 20; it is not a complete catalog of the slate: Marvel Comics Release Calendar. The announced dates should be read as the schedule at solicitation time, not as confirmation that every item ultimately shipped on that day.
How to read the listings and variants
- New launch or ongoing series: A new series such as West Coast Avengers is different from another installment of a continuing title. Check the issue description and numbering to see whether a listing marks a starting point or continues an existing run.
- Event issue or standalone story: Some listings connect to events, including Venom War; others may be easier to approach without following a larger crossover. Use the individual solicitation description to judge how much context a particular issue needs.
- Single issue or collected edition: A single issue is a chapter-length comic; a collection gathers previously published material. Collections may have on-sale dates well after the solicitation month.
- Standard cover or Direct Market variant: Variant listings can specify a distribution channel. Comic Releases says Direct Market variants are primarily distributed through comic shops or online shops ordering through the comic-shop channel, and major general retailers generally will not carry them. Availability depends on the specific edition and retailer.
FOC and the announced schedule
FOC means “Final Order Cutoff”: the deadline for a retailer to submit its order. It matters to comic shops and readers placing preorders, but it is not the date a comic goes on sale. The roundup cautioned that “ALL DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO PAPER SHORTAGES, PRINTER JAMS, AND SHIPPING CONFLICTS.” Retailer cutoff dates and consumer release dates serve different purposes, so check the relevant listing rather than treating FOC as a release day.
