Marvel’s December 2024 solicitations are advance listings for comics and collected editions planned for release that month—not a guarantee that every item arrived on a particular date. The slate includes ongoing issues, new series, one-shots, facsimile editions and collections. For exact dates, use Marvel’s dated release calendar.
What the December 2024 solicitations include
The solicitation roundup published by Comic Releases on September 19, 2024 highlighted Timeslide, Rogue and Cyclops during the Raid of Greymalkin, a new Venom run, and a Strange Academy omnibus. Those are selected highlights, not a complete inventory of the month’s listings. The broader slate spans several formats and kinds of release.
- Ongoing series: continuing issues from established runs, including event-related stories.
- New starts and one-shots: launches and standalone issues, among them Hellverine #1 and Ultimate Universe: One Year In #1.
- Collected editions: books gathering previously published material, such as the highlighted Strange Academy omnibus.
- Facsimile editions: reprints presented in a format distinct from a new installment or collection.

Notable new releases in the slate
Hellverine #1
The solicitation presents this as the first ongoing Hellverine series. Benjamin Percy is credited as writer and Raffaele Ienco as artist. Its premise has Akihiro sharing a body with the demon Bagra-Ghul, with Doctor Strange entering the story. The solicited specifications are 32 pages, T+, and $4.99; that is the listed solicitation price, not a current retail price.

Ultimate Universe: One Year In #1
This 40-page, T+ one-shot is framed as a setup for the Ultimate line’s second year and introduces Ultimate versions of two major Marvel characters. Deniz Camp and Jonas Scharf are credited. Its solicited price is $5.99, not a statement of current price or availability. Alongside Timeslide, it is one of the titles connecting the month’s highlights to the continuing Ultimate Universe storyline.
How to find the actual on-sale date
A December solicitation identifies a planned release month, but the month alone does not establish the day an issue went on sale. Marvel’s release calendar lists dated issue entries, including December 18 and December 25, 2024, with issue names and creative contributors. Look up the specific title there rather than inferring its date from the solicitation roundup. A calendar listing is the appropriate source for a date; it does not by itself establish present-day stock or price.
Rank #2
- - No duplicates guaranteed, - very good to near mint condition, - each comic book individually bagged and boarded, - major superhero titles in every pack
- Identify the exact issue or edition, including its issue number and format.
- Search for that item in Marvel’s calendar and read the date attached to its entry.
- For collected editions, check the specific edition listing as well; an issue calendar date does not substitute for a collection’s product details.
What the December counts do—and do not—mean
The Grand Comics Database’s Marvel monthly indexes, accessed October 8, 2026, report two different counts: 191 Marvel issues with a December 2024 publication date and 95 Marvel issues on sale in December 2024. The figures use different date fields. Neither should be read as the number of entries in Comic Releases’ solicitation roundup, and they should not be combined into a single total.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choosing between an issue and a collection
Start with the reading format you want: an individual issue continues or begins a comic story, while an omnibus or other collection gathers earlier material. Then compare whether the listing is an ongoing series or a one-shot, the characters or story line that interest you, the credited creators, and the exact dated calendar entry where one is available. Solicitations are previews, not reviews or proof that a listed item was ultimately published as planned. For current price and availability, verify the precise issue or edition with its seller.
