Marvel and DC’s crossover publishing returned in 2025 with two distinct Deadpool and Batman one-shots, then continued into 2026 with anniversary reprints and new Superman and Spider-Man comics. The books are companion releases from the two publishers—not duplicate editions of one story—and a September 2026 collection is set to gather several of the newer crossovers.
What is the new Marvel and DC crossover?
It is a publishing initiative spanning both companies, rather than a single shared series. The first announced releases were two separate 2025 one-shots: Marvel’s Deadpool/Batman #1 and DC’s Batman/Deadpool #1. DC later announced a 2026 program tied to the 50th anniversary of the original Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, pairing facsimile reprints with new Superman and Spider-Man issues.

DC outlined the 2025 launch in its May 27, 2025 announcement; Marvel’s listing identifies its separate Deadpool/Batman #1.
Are the Batman/Deadpool one-shots the same story?
No. They are two separate one-shots, each published by a different company and named for the characters in a different order. Marvel’s Deadpool/Batman #1 and DC’s Batman/Deadpool #1 are companion crossovers, not two names for one issue. DC’s announcement describes its edition and the collaboration; Marvel’s issue page identifies the Marvel title.
