Why Ben turns up
In PerthNow’s account, Ben meets Tim and Sara alongside Cherise, Sara’s friend. Ben had already made an awkward joke at the wedding about Tim’s sexual history: “Experiment 865… I mean Sara.” Now he says he wants “the goss, the drama, the tea” and tries to draw out details about the relationship.

Ben also tells producers, “I’d like to get a more detailed picture, I think,” adding: “If he’s being restrained, if he’s well-fed… and obviously, I want all the goss, the drama, the tea.”
The conversation revisits Tim and Sara’s rocky start
Sara says, “We’re doing really well at the moment.” Ben counters with a tease: “Are you sure, Tim said he’s been counting the days.” Sara acknowledges the difficult beginning, saying, “We’ve come so far. We had a rocky start.” Ben responds, “Let’s unpack that.”

Tim’s “relax” remark is the flashpoint
The recap returns to the couple’s honeymoon and Tim’s use of “relax,” which had become a point of tension between them. Ben asks Sara, “But should you have relaxed?” Sara tells producers, “It all feels a bit childish.” Cherise then worries that “birds of a feather flock together,” suggesting Tim may have more in common with Ben than he lets on.

The group ends the exchange with a toast: “Cheers to relaxation.” PerthNow closes with its own jab that Tim should remove “relax” from his vocabulary. That is the recap’s editorial take, rather than a further claim made by one of the participants.
