GameSpot reported that Mark Fischbach chose a 50/50 theater split, a structure that may affect the producer’s retained share, but the available reporting does not establish the film’s final net profit or Markiplier’s personal earnings. That pattern is significant, but it does not mean every online creator has a ready-made path to a $50-million theatrical run. The official film materials identify Mark Fischbach as the writer, director, editor, and executive producer. GameSpot also reported that he funded the movie, wrote it, directed it, and starred in it. David Szymanski, creator of the source game, co-wrote the screenplay and appears in the film.
The Numbers classifies Iron Lung as an English-language, live-action science-fiction horror film produced and financed by Markiplier Studios. It lists a runtime of 127 minutes and an R rating for language, bloody images, and some gore. The official site describes the movie as approximately two hours and seven minutes. Since the runtime descriptions differ slightly, “about two hours” is the most useful general description.

How the movie adapts the original game
