Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber have two sons, Sean and Ty. Sean has worked as an actor and producer on projects connected to NCIS; a 2023 family profile reports that Ty pursued screenwriting. The family keeps much of its personal life private, so the public record offers considerably more detail about Sean’s work than Ty’s.
Who are Mark Harmon’s children?
Mark Harmon and his wife, actor Pam Dawber, are the parents of Sean and Ty. Biography.com identifies both as their children, as does a 2023 family profile published by Yahoo.
TV Insider reports that Sean was born in 1988 and Ty in 1992. Those are reported birth years, not verified exact birth dates.
What does Sean Harmon do?
Sean has worked in acting and production. TV Insider reports that he portrayed a younger version of his father’s character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, in NCIS. The publication also reported his executive-producer role on the prequel series NCIS: Origins; television credits can change, so that role is best understood as the credit reported in its profile.

TV Insider describes Sean as an actor, writer, producer and surfer, and quotes Mark Harmon saying Sean prefers executive producing. The clearest publicly reported connection between Sean’s career and his father’s best-known series is his work on NCIS and its prequel.
What is known about Ty Harmon’s work?
A 2023 Yahoo family profile reports that Ty pursued screenwriting. The available coverage provides less career detail about him than it does about Sean, and does not establish a reliable, current list of screenwriting credits. It is therefore more accurate to describe the reported path than to assign him unverified projects or titles.

Why is there limited information about the family?
Harmon and Dawber have generally kept their family life out of the public eye. In a 2017 interview cited by TV Insider, Harmon explained that their privacy was not a calculated strategy: “It’s not even a choice. It’s who we are.” That approach helps explain why public profiles focus on a few attributable details rather than an extensive account of either son’s life.
