Margo Price says she and her husband, musician Jeremy Ivey, have “somehow beaten all the odds.” In a March 2025 PEOPLE interview, she described a relationship shaped by a shared music career, the death of their infant son Ezra and the changes of more than two decades together. “We clung to each other,” Price said of facing the loss.
What Margo Price meant by “beaten all the odds”
The phrase is Price’s personal description of the couple’s endurance, not a claim based on a statistic. In PEOPLE’s March 21, 2025 feature, she reflected on staying together through tragedy and life changes. She said the marriage felt “kind of miracle,” adding that they had been together for 21 years and that, in the music business, those years felt like “61 years.”

Price also described a sense of arrival: “I feel like we’re finally at the place where we’re like, ‘Okay, we made it. We’re here.’” Those remarks frame the headline as her reflection on their experience, rather than a measurable comparison with other couples.

She has spoken about leaning on each other through the loss: “We clung to each other,” she told PEOPLE.

A later interview, published by AOL as a republication of a PEOPLE interview on September 19, 2026, offers a distinct perspective on their shared work. Price spoke about finding joy in playing and staying connected to the reason they make music, even amid the pressures of awards and public attention. That interview adds context to how the couple approaches music and life together; it is separate from the 2025 feature in which she used the “beaten all the odds” phrase.
