Her family later said she died in Hong Kong. Reporting described her as a survivor of thyroid and breast cancer, but no verified information here connects her cancer history to her death.
What happened to Margarita Forés?
Her son, Amado Forés, announced her sudden death on February 11. The family’s initial announcement did not give a cause of death. A later family statement reported that she died in Hong Kong that morning. Philstar.com reported the announcement and career details; PhilSTAR Life reported the later family statement.
Amado wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I share the sudden passing of my Mom, Margarita A. Forés.”
What was her cancer history?
Daily Tribune reported that Forés survived thyroid cancer in 2006 and later breast cancer. Her family also described her as a cancer survivor in a memorial notice. These accounts establish her history as a survivor; they do not establish cancer as the cause of her death. Daily Tribune’s February 12, 2025 report covered her life and cancer history.
