The dates were part of a 50th-anniversary celebration rooted in Hines’s arrival in Australia in 1970 to join the stage production of Hair—not a career milestone that began with the Mandurah concert.
What happened at the Mandurah kickoff?
PerthNow reported on 5 July 2024 that the Western Australian run would open in Mandurah, with the concert scheduled for 8 August. The next two announced dates were Bunbury on 9 August and Perth on 10 August. The Mandurah performance is in the past; this is a historical tour announcement, not a current ticket notice.

Hines described her long career to PerthNow as a blessing, saying, “It’s been a blessing and it’s been a great career … and I’m still able to create music and people want to see it which is just wonderful.” PerthNow’s 5 July 2024 report covered the WA dates and the interview.
Why was the tour called Still Shining?
The anniversary referred to more than 50 years since Hines came to Australia from Boston in 1970, aged 16, to star in the Australian production of Hair. Her official biography connects that move and early stage work to the career celebrated by the tour. The phrase “50-year career” was the tour’s anniversary framing; it does not mean her career began in Mandurah or that the 2024 concert marked her first appearance in Australia.

Hines’s performing career has included the stage musical Jesus Christ Superstar, recording, theatre work and a role as a judge on Australian Idol. Those milestones help explain why the anniversary tour drew on both her music catalogue and her stage history. Her official biography provides her account of her move to Australia and career.
What music was associated with the tour?
ABC Music released Still Shining: The 50th Anniversary Ultimate Collection on 7 July 2023. The label describes it as a 22-song collection, making it a companion listening option for the anniversary rather than a ticket or a requirement for attending a show. Its release preceded the 2024 Mandurah concert by more than a year. See ABC Music’s album details for the label’s listing.

How many records has Marcia Hines sold?
Hines’s official materials give different totals. Her current official website reports 2.8 million copies sold across 22 albums, while the 2024 tour announcement reports 2.6 million copies and 22 albums. The figures are not reconciled in those materials, so neither should be presented as an independently verified or definitive total. The tour announcement is available on Hines’s official site.
