This wording should not be expanded into a more specific medical explanation. The reported cause does not identify a particular physiological event, treatment history, or personal behavior.
What does “natural” mean in the report?
The Times reported that the manner of death was classified as natural. Cause and manner answer different questions: Tennessee’s Office of the State Chief Medical Examiner defines cause as the abnormality that sets the chain of events leading to death in motion, while manner describes the circumstances of death. “Natural” is therefore a manner classification, not an alternative cause. When was Mandisa found?
Mandisa was found dead at her Tennessee home on April 18, 2024. The Times reported that the autopsy said she was last known alive approximately three weeks earlier; that interval does not establish a precise date or time of death. Los Angeles Times
Why did early reports say the cause was unknown?
The Associated Press reported on April 19, 2024, that the cause of death was not yet known. That was the information available in the initial coverage; the autopsy finding was reported later, in June. Associated Press
Can the public read the autopsy report?

Mandisa was a contemporary Christian singer and an American Idol alum.
