The naming can be confusing. We TV presents the new installment as season 8 of Mama June: From Not to Hot, while AMC’s 2026 announcement uses the shortened title Mama June. The title in the assignment, Mama June: Family Crisis, refers to the earlier season promoted by AMC in March 2025 for a May return. That season’s preview centered on different storylines, including June’s efforts to seek custody of Kaitlyn after Anna’s death, Alana’s college life, and Pumpkin and Josh’s marital problems.
