News that her former Boy Meets World co-star Ben Savage was supportive of her adult-entertainment career. Her comments came after Ward described a different picture of cast support in interviews two years earlier.
What Maitland Ward said about Ben Savage
In E!’s interview, published September 25, 2024, Ward said, “Ben was definitely somebody who was supportive.” She added: “I think it was cool. He’s in politics and he stood by the fact that I’m in porn. Some people shy away from that and feel that sense of taboo. It surprised me.”

That is Ward’s account of Savage’s response, not a public statement from Savage or independent confirmation of his private views. Ward said his support surprised her because she had encountered people who were uncomfortable with the subject.
How the account fits Ward’s 2022 comments
Ward’s earlier comments described what she had experienced or heard at that time; they do not name Savage as one of the people who had offered support. In a Men’s Health interview published November 9, 2022, she said Will Friedle and Trina McGee had reached out, adding, “but it’s been crickets from the rest of the cast.”

#1 Best Overall
In a separate Daily Beast interview published September 19, 2022, Ward said she had “not talked to him at all for a long time” and that Savage “hasn’t approached me about the porn thing.” Her 2024 account came later, so the dates matter: the earlier interviews do not establish what Savage may have said or done after them.
Ward and Savage’s Boy Meets World connection
E! identifies Ward as Rachel McGuire, who joined Boy Meets World in its final seasons, and Savage as Cory Matthews. The series ended in 2000 after seven seasons. Ward’s remarks about Savage’s support concern their history as co-stars and her adult-entertainment career.
Rank #2
The books mentioned in the coverage
E!’s 2024 report names Ward’s memoir as My Escape from Hollywood: Unapologetic, Unfiltered, Unashamed. The earlier Men’s Health interview discusses a different book, Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood. The titles refer to separate works; neither serves as independent evidence of Savage’s views.
