The Australian actor, known for Neighbours, did not disclose the baby’s name or sex in the birth announcement reported by 7NEWS.
What Madeleine West announced
On 21 April 2025, in a report updated the next day, 7NEWS said West had announced the birth with the words: “Earthside at last… and utterly perfect.” The report said she kept the child’s name and sex private. It did not identify the child’s father.
The birth followed West’s January 2025 announcement that she was expecting a seventh child. PerthNow and 7NEWS reported that she was 45 at the time and described the pregnancy as a surprise. In a social post quoted by PerthNow, West wrote: “Not too sure about the title ‘Geriatric mum’ but here we are, and I’m winding back a little to grow this little surprise package I’ve dubbed 007.” PerthNow’s January report and 7NEWS’s announcement report covered the news.
What is known about West’s family
West has six older children with chef Shannon Bennett, according to the 2025 coverage. PerthNow reported that the former couple separated in 2018 after 13 years together. Their older children are Phoenix, Hendrix, Xascha, Xanthe, and twins Xalia and Margaux.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The January announcement coverage did not name the seventh child’s father. The birth report likewise did not supply that detail, so it should not be inferred from West’s past relationship or the identity of her older children’s father.
West’s invitation to older parents
Alongside sharing her pregnancy news, West said she rarely heard older parents discussed and invited people expecting later in life to share their experiences. As quoted by PerthNow, she wrote: “I don’t have much more to say right now, but I’ve noticed I don’t hear much about older parents. l know you must be out there. Just seems we are invisible.”

She also asked people expecting later than expected or beginning parenthood in their 40s or 50s to share their stories, and posed a practical question: “Like how the heck do you get all the baby paraphernalia together again after you’ve given it all away????” The questions were an invitation for peer experiences, not a medical statement or a product recommendation.
