After standing, Bryan told the crowd, “It’s OK, hey, my lawyer will be calling.” The remark was a joke, not a literal legal threat.
Did a fan’s cellphone cause the fall?
That was the initial explanation suggested by the onstage exchange and early footage. In a later Entertainment Tonight interview reported by the Los Angeles Times, Bryan corrected that impression: “Everybody is reporting [about the] cellphone, but I was kind of hamming that up. I don’t think it was a cellphone. I think it was just slick.”

His later account is that a slick spot caused the slip; the cellphone explanation should not be stated as fact.

Concertgoer Emily Nicole told ABC News that people were throwing phones, cowboy boots, cowboy hats, water bottles and other items onto the stage while trying to get them signed. She called the behavior “not safe at all and just super disrespectful.” This is Nicole’s account, not a verified count of objects or an independently established inventory.
