Netflix’s Tudum reunion recap says Kacie brought the ring to the reunion and handed it to hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey. Basketball player Chris Paul joined them onstage for a free-throw contest. Kacie won, and Patrick gave the ring back to her. Netflix summed up the moment: “All’s fair in love and basketball, so Patrick gave the ring back.”
The contest made for a playful television beat, but it did not settle the underlying disagreement about what returning the ring meant or who should have kept it.

Kacie said she wanted time to decompress after the experiment. She said she was upset when Patrick asked for the ring while also moving their relationship to “just friends.” She viewed the ring as part of their shared experience on the show and noted that Patrick had not paid for it.

Patrick said he wanted to be friends and felt Kacie had not clearly told him she needed more time. He also said he did not really want the ring back; in his telling, her reaction clarified where they stood.

Why viewers disagreed about who should keep it

Who paid for the Love Is Blind engagement ring?
For this ring, the Los Angeles Times reported that Netflix paid.
