Morgan’s manager, Tony Conway of Conway Entertainment Group, announced the decision and said she was stepping away from the stage to focus on White and their family.
The announcement was about a specific April 2025 interruption—not a current August 2026 hospitalization, a permanent retirement, or the cancellation of an entire tour. White later died on June 1, 2025, at age 72, according to subsequent reporting.
What Lorrie Morgan’s manager announced
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, Morgan’s manager said that the country singer would cancel all concerts and public appearances for the next two weeks. The statement attributed the decision to White’s hospitalization and Morgan’s wish to remain with her husband and family.
Public information about White’s illness was limited. The announcement and contemporaneous reports said he had been undergoing treatment for mouth cancer and had been readmitted to a hospital in Middle Tennessee. They did not disclose a cancer stage, prognosis, specific treatment, hospital name, or other medical details. Those details should not be inferred from the announcement.

Morgan had previously asked for prayers, support, and privacy while the family dealt with White’s health. A December 2024 account cited in entertainment coverage had said White was making progress, but the April hospitalization indicated that his condition had again become serious enough to require inpatient care.
Which concerts were affected?
Morgan was part of the rotating support lineup for Alabama’s limited Live In Concert 25 Tour; she was not the tour’s headlining act. Reports identified Alabama performances on April 17 and April 19 as affected by her cancellation, with Pam Tillis stepping in for Morgan.
A contemporary tour announcement listed Morgan on the April 17 Alabama date at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The replacement information reported for the affected Alabama dates named Tillis as the substitute performer.
The original announcement covered roughly two weeks of concerts and public appearances. It did not establish that every later 2025 date was canceled. Morgan reportedly had additional headlining dates beginning in May, but the available April reports did not fully clarify the status of each future performance. The announcement therefore should not be described as a cancellation of the entire Alabama tour or as Morgan’s retirement.

Randy White’s death came later
The April hospitalization was followed by a separate and more consequential development. Subsequent reports said Randy White died on June 1, 2025, at age 72, after battling mouth cancer.
On June 2, Morgan posted a tribute describing White as her “partner,” “champion,” and “rock” for 17 years and saying that her family was devastated by his death. His death should be distinguished from the April concert announcement: the cancellation was made because he had been hospitalized and was receiving treatment, while the death occurred weeks later.
Who was Randy White?
White was Morgan’s sixth husband. The couple had been married for nearly 15 years when the April 2025 announcement was made. Morgan’s earlier marriage to country singer Keith Whitley is a separate part of her personal history and should not be confused with the relationship that prompted the 2025 cancellations.
Morgan’s connection to Whitley remains important to her career story. They recorded the duet “’Til a Tear Becomes a Rose,” and Whitley was her late second husband. That history, however, provides no additional information about White’s illness or treatment.

Lorrie Morgan’s career context
Morgan has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since her induction on June 9, 1984, and made her Opry debut on December 14, 1973. She is the daughter of Country Music Hall of Fame member George Morgan.
Her best-known recordings include “What Part of No,” “Except for Monday,” “Watch Me,” and “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.” For listeners discovering or revisiting her catalog, Lorrie Morgan’s Greatest Hits CD includes songs such as “Five Minutes,” “Dear Me,” “Except for Monday,” “Watch Me,” and “What Part of No,” as well as the Keith Whitley duet “’Til a Tear Becomes a Rose.” Availability and pricing can change, so fans should check the artist’s official store or current music retailers.
Readers interested in the singer’s broader career and personal history can also look for the Lorrie Morgan autobiography, Forever Yours, Faithfully: My Love Story. The book focuses substantially on her life and career, including her relationship with Whitley; it is background reading rather than a source of medical information about Randy White.
What Morgan’s current listings do—and do not—show
The official Grand Ole Opry artist listing continues to identify Morgan as an Opry member, and her official website remains active with music, merchandise, and tour sections. Those listings confirm her continuing association with the Opry and her ongoing public presence, but they do not prove that every previously scheduled performance took place or establish details about her private grieving process.
