What is the song about?
Young described “One Thing” as a song that initially sounds like it is about sex—and said it is—but added that “sex in itself is never about one thing.” Her explanation leaves room for the track’s broader perspective rather than reducing it to a single interpretation. Rolling Stone Australia
What happens in the “One Thing” music video?
Directed by Dave Meyers, the video moves through scenes including a first date, an all-girls classroom, a boxing ring with former partners, and Young kissing herself. Young said she wanted the song and video to be thought-provoking, to show sex as both fun and light rather than always meaningful, and to explore reversed gender roles. Universal Music Brasil
