Tech Advisor’s March 2025 feature described the first season as funny enough to watch in a day; that is one reviewer’s reaction, not a guarantee that every viewer will laugh.
How Last One Laughing UK works
Ten UK comedians enter a room for a six-hour contest with one rule: do not laugh. According to Tech Advisor’s March 2025 account, a first lapse earns a yellow-card warning and a second strike sends a contestant out. Hosts Jimmy Carr and Roisin Conaty monitor the action on camera and add provocations, from surprise guests and a “naughty step” to prepared “Joker” performances staged by contestants.
The format turns small reactions into suspense. Contestants have to keep their faces still even as dry exchanges, deliberately odd behaviour and planned comic turns unfold around them. The Tech Advisor reviewer particularly enjoyed the Joker segment and the season’s surprise moments, while noting that end-of-episode “next time” trailers can reveal twists.
Who is in each UK season?
The two seasons have distinct contestant lineups. Bob Mortimer appears in both; the remaining contestants differ.

- How to Play: Enter the world of Neanderthals where communication is simple and hilarious! Get your teammates to guess words and phrases, but there’s a catch—you can only use single-syllable words. - What’s Included: Poetry for Neanderthals comes packed with 200 double-sided cards, 2 game boards, a 2-foot inflatable "No!" Stick (plus a repair patch for extra bopping). Also included is an instruction manual (that you’ll probably skim) to get you started on your prehistoric adventure.
- Who's it For?: Perfect for 2-6 players, ages 7 and up, this family-friendly game is great for kids, teens, and adults. Whether you’re looking for a fun way to spend family game night or want to add some laughter to your next party, Poetry for Neanderthals is the perfect choice.

How the two seasons fit the binge
Season 1
Tech Advisor’s feature was published on March 27, 2025, when the first season’s final two episodes had just arrived. Its writer had watched the first four earlier and finished the remaining episodes after their release. The feature reported that the show was number two on Prime Video’s top ten on that date; that is a historical ranking, not a current chart position.

Season 2
As of October 8, 2026, Prime Video’s localized programme listing showed two seasons, with season two comprising six episodes dated March 19 through April 2, 2026. Listings, release details and access may vary by territory, so check the programme page in your local Prime Video catalogue.
Is it worth watching?
Try it if you like comedy built around restraint: the pleasure is not only in the jokes, but in watching performers suppress their reactions while the room gets stranger. The Joker performances and surprise interventions give the contest changing rhythms rather than relying on one style of stand-up. If you prefer a conventional documentary or a series of complete, self-contained routines, this competition format may be less appealing.

The UK show belongs to a wider LOL format; Tech Advisor identifies Japan’s Documental, which began in 2016, as the original. The feature also names Canada and Ireland editions, but does not offer a systematic comparison, so it cannot establish which regional version is funniest or best.
