The reported purchase came after a co-op board rejected her application for an Upper West Side apartment associated with Babe Ruth, despite the seller accepting her offer. The board did not disclose a reason for its decision.
What is known about Dunne’s reported West Village purchase?
The Sporting News reported the $1.95 million price and condominium details on November 5, 2025, attributing them to the New York Post. The available reporting does not establish a deed, exact closing date, or direct confirmation from Dunne or her representative. Sporting News report
Why did Dunne miss out on the Babe Ruth-associated apartment?
The Los Angeles Times reported that the seller accepted Dunne’s offer on a $1.6 million Upper West Side apartment before she submitted an application for approval from its co-op board. The listing agent confirmed the offer and application sequence to the newspaper. The board rejected her application about three weeks before the Times published its July 9, 2025, report, and the paper said no reason was given. Los Angeles Times report
The apartment was reported to be a seventh-floor unit at 345 West 88th Street, where Babe Ruth was said to have lived from 1929 to 1940. The listing or offer amount is described as $1.6 million by the Los Angeles Times; other coverage gives the more precise figure of $1.59 million. These are reported listing and offer amounts, not independently verified public-record findings.

Did Dunne’s social-media posts cause the rejection?
That has not been established. Dunne said she did not know why the board rejected her application. In a public video, she speculated that the board might not want a public figure in the building and joked, “For all I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU.” Those were her guesses, not an explanation from the board. Los Angeles Times account of Dunne’s remarks
A separate Sports Illustrated report repeated a resident’s allegation, attributed to the New York Post, that Dunne had “overshared” on social media and angered the board. That claim remains an allegation; the reviewed reporting does not establish it as the board’s reason. Sports Illustrated report
