Choose OBS Studio if you want free, hands-on control and can keep a computer and internet connection running. Choose LiveReacting if cloud-hosted playback, scheduling, or leaving your computer off matters more than avoiding a recurring service cost. For a cloud-run YouTube loop, StreamNeo is another option to consider first: it keeps an uploaded video or playlist running from the cloud at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with the first day free. None of these choices clears the rights to devotional music, recordings, or artwork; you need permission for the actual assets you broadcast.
LiveReacting vs. OBS: which fits a devotional loop?
| Decision | OBS Studio | LiveReacting |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | On your computer. The computer and network must stay online for the stream to continue. | LiveReacting describes prerecorded and 24/7 streams running from its servers, so your computer can be off. |
| Looping | Add a Media Source and enable Loop; a VLC source can provide a playlist. | Upload videos, create a playlist or loop a file, then stream from the cloud. |
| Control | Direct control of scenes, encoder, bitrate, resolution, and frame rate; OBS can also record locally. | The vendor says the stream can be changed from a browser; available resolution and service limits depend on the plan. |
| Scheduling | You start OBS yourself; scheduling may require a third-party plugin. | Paid plans offer scheduling; repeated scheduling is described on certain plans. |
| Cost | OBS is free software. Computer and connectivity costs depend on what you already have. | LiveReacting’s comparison listed $19.99 a month for prerecorded streams and $39.99 a month for 24/7 streaming, checked September 25, 2026. These are vendor-reported prices, not market averages; verify the current price and plan limits before buying. |
| Best fit | Free, local control when you can operate and monitor the setup. | Scheduled or unattended cloud playback when its current plan terms and recurring cost suit you. |
LiveReacting’s feature descriptions and plan prices are vendor claims, not independent reliability-test results. See its OBS comparison and pricing page for details and current terms.
Check YouTube eligibility and devotional content rights first
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube’s guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. These requirements apply whether you broadcast through OBS or a cloud service. Check the channel’s status and YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility steps before preparing a long broadcast.
Clear every recording and visual asset
A devotional subject does not automatically make a song recording, composition, video, or artwork free to broadcast. You are responsible for having the necessary rights. YouTube’s livestream terms say providers must hold the rights needed to exploit live content, including music licensing rights. YouTube also scans active streams for third-party content; a match can trigger a warning, interruption, or termination. Even licensed material may require the rights owner’s channel to be allowlisted to avoid interruption, according to YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Loop a prerecorded video with OBS
This route assumes you have a finished local video file, a computer that can remain on, and an upload connection capable of sustaining the stream. OBS is free software, but this is not a cloud workflow: closing OBS, shutting down the computer, or losing the connection stops your contribution to the broadcast.
- Enable YouTube Live and create the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, use the live-streaming workflow to create or schedule a stream. Copy the stream key from the stream settings. Treat it like a password: do not share it or show it in a recording or screenshot.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and connect your account or select the stream-key option and enter the key. Keep the key private; if it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Add the video. In the OBS scene, add a Media Source, select the prepared video, and enable Loop. For a playlist, add a VLC Video Source and configure its playlist. Confirm the source is visible in the preview and that its audio is audible.
- Set output to match the source and your connection. In Settings > Video, choose the output resolution and frame rate the computer and connection can sustain. In Settings > Output, set the streaming encoder and bitrate appropriate to that resolution and frame rate. Use YouTube’s current live encoder settings as the reference for supported resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval; do not exceed the recommended bitrate for your chosen format or the upload capacity available to the computer.
- Check the stream before leaving it unattended. Start the broadcast in OBS, confirm that YouTube Studio shows a healthy incoming signal, and verify the picture and sound in the YouTube preview. Keep OBS and the computer awake, maintain a stable network connection, and monitor for dropped frames, source playback ending, or YouTube warnings. A loop does not remove the need to watch the broadcast and respond to problems.
Choose one continuous stream or shorter broadcasts
A 24/7 loop does not guarantee a complete YouTube archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. It also warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. If preserving the full devotional program matters, plan shorter sessions and keep a local archive backup; these are YouTube platform constraints, regardless of the streaming tool. Check YouTube’s current live-stream archive guidance and DVR guidance.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for looping uploaded videos, not for broadcasting a live camera. The setup is: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. Your computer can be off while the cloud plays the upload. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists and 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode and no quality tiers.
There is no need to keep a computer running at home; any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps is covered at one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. After that, the monthly option is $9.99 per month. The same product is offered across billing lengths of a day, a week, a month, six months, or a year; UPI and cards are available in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. Common problems and what to check
- YouTube shows no incoming video: Confirm OBS is streaming, the correct stream key is entered, and the video source is visible in the active scene. If the key was exposed or may be wrong, reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- The video stops instead of repeating: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For a playlist, check the VLC source playlist and that its files remain available.
- The broadcast drops or becomes unstable: Check the computer’s power and sleep settings, network continuity, and OBS dropped-frame indicators. If the upload connection cannot sustain the configured bitrate, lower output demands in line with YouTube’s encoder guidance.
- YouTube warns about or interrupts the stream: Review the notification and identify the matched audio or visual asset. Do not assume devotional content is exempt; resolve rights or replace the asset, and check whether the rights owner needs to allowlist the channel.
- The stream is missing from archives or viewers cannot rewind: Check its duration. YouTube’s archive capture is not assured beyond 12 hours, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on longer streams.
