What is known about the story’s adaptation?
The film is a live-action adaptation of the comic, not a feature-length continuation or season of the animated show. Skybound says the comic, created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, ran for 15 years and 146 issues; Ryan Ottley joined later as a contributing creator. How is the movie different from the Prime Video series?
The animated series is a separate adaptation with its own platform and schedule. Skybound says it debuted on Prime Video in 2021 and was renewed for season six ahead of season five’s planned 2027 debut. Those season plans are not a release window for the live-action movie, and the series’ platform does not confirm where the film will be released.
