Cristy Lee’s story begins with a family garage, a backyard greenhouse and a BMW 2002 her father worked on for years—but the restoration never reached its hoped-for handoff. Her own account traces a path from the Daytona Beach area to Detroit, radio, motorsports and television, alongside a continuing interest in motorcycles and design.
A childhood shaped by a garage and a hands-on backyard
Lee’s official biography says she grew up outside Daytona Beach around her father’s projects. He designed and built a backyard greenhouse filled with orchids, as well as a pool and stone waterfall. She also recalls riding behind him on a dirt bike as a toddler, sitting behind the gas tank with her hands on the handlebars while he rode around the yard. That is a childhood memory, not a story of formal riding lessons.
Cars were part of the same family setting. Her father worked on a classic BMW 2002 in his import shop and home garage. According to Lee’s biography, he spent years on the restoration with the hope of giving her the car when she was old enough. “The car never came to fruition,” her account says; it does not give a reason or say that she ultimately owned the BMW. Lee’s official biography is the source for these personal details.
How she moved from Florida to motorsports
Lee’s biography says she moved from Daytona Beach to Detroit after college to invest in real estate. She began working in Detroit radio, then pursued motorsports broadcasting. The sequence connects several strands of her career—real estate, radio and automotive media—without establishing that one was a planned route into the next. Her official account does not establish an exact year for the move.

Her television work spans several formats
Lee’s credits cover automotive projects, live auctions, motorsports reporting and home renovation. Dates on her résumé identify when listed work began; they should not be read as confirmation that every program is still producing episodes.
- All Girls Garage: Lee’s official résumé lists the series beginning in October 2011.
- Barrett-Jackson LIVE: Her résumé lists this live auction work beginning in January 2015 and also includes motorsports reporting at racing and action-sports events.
- Garage Squad: In 2019, MotorTrend and Warner Bros. Discovery announced Lee as a co-host for the show’s sixth season, noting her earlier work on All Girls Garage and Barrett-Jackson LIVE. The 2019 announcement confirms that season’s casting, not the show’s current production status.
- Steal This House: HGTV’s talent biography identifies Lee as host of this Detroit-based home-renovation series.
- Celebrity IOU Joyride: HGTV’s biography also notes her appearance as host. That listing documents a credit, not current availability or new episodes.
Lee’s official résumé and the network biographies show the breadth of her work; they do not establish that all of the listed programs are currently airing.

Motorcycles remain a central interest
Lee’s current website describes motorcycles as a major passion alongside her automotive, real-estate and renovation interests. In her words: “My roots in everything automotive, Real Estate, and home renovation run deep, but all take a close-second to my passion for motorcycles!” The site describes riding on track, street, dirt trails and mini-moto circuits.
Her biography mentions a 2019 Ninja 400 track-bike build and a 1972 Chevy C10. Those are specific projects recorded on that page, not evidence that either remains an active build. The official pages give different descriptions of her riding experience: the homepage says “over 20 years,” while the About page says “over 18 years.” Neither figure is accompanied by a dated measurement, so the precise duration is unclear.
