Emily Armstrong joined Linkin Park as a co-vocalist. The September 5, 2024 announcement named her alongside returning members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix (Dave Farrell), and Joe Hahn. The band did not present Armstrong as the sole lead singer: she joined Shinoda in the vocal lineup. Warner Music’s announcement described the new lineup and marked the band’s public return.

Why did Linkin Park come back?

What is Linkin Park’s new album called?
The album is From Zero, released November 15, 2024. The band released its first single from the new era, “The Emptiness Machine,” with the September 5 announcement. Warner Music later characterized the track as the biggest rock song of 2024; that is the label’s description, rather than a metric defined in the release announcement. The band’s biography says From Zero peaked at No. 1 in 14 countries; that figure refers to the album’s chart performance, not a current ranking.

What does From Zero mean?
Mike Shinoda connected the title to the band’s beginnings and its new chapter. “Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life,” he said in Warner Music’s September 5, 2024 announcement.
What happened at the 2024 return?
The September 5 announcement brought several milestones together: the new lineup, the single “The Emptiness Machine,” the forthcoming album From Zero, and an initial six-show tour. Those shows were announced for Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogotá. A later announcement described more than 50 shows extending the tour into 2025. Both sets of dates are historical; they do not establish the band’s current schedule or ticket availability.
