How the album was made
According to BMG, the writing and recording began in Los Angeles in December 2024 and took place over 10 days. The album was later finished in London and New York. The compressed initial session is part of the album’s documented production story, not evidence that the work was completed entirely in Los Angeles.
Official Charts’ album profile credits Allen as the writer of all 14 songs, mainly in collaboration with musical director Blue May. It lists Lily Allen, Seb Chew, Kito and Blue May as executive producers. Spanish artist Nieves González is credited with the cover art and illustrations.

A narrative that blends fact and fiction
BMG presents Allen’s move to New York as the basis for the album’s narrative. In the announcement, Allen said she had tried to document her life in a new city and the events that brought her to her present circumstances. She also described drawing on shared experiences to explore why people behave as they do, calling the record a mixture of fact and fiction and an album about navigating relationships.
That framing matters when interpreting songs listeners may connect to real people or events: Allen presents the work as personal, but also as shaped by shared experience and fiction. The announcement does not establish every lyric as a literal account of independently verified events.
