Leonid “Leo” Radvinsky, the majority owner and controlling figure behind OnlyFans, died at 43 after a long battle with cancer, the company announced on March 23, 2026. OnlyFans said he died peacefully and that his family had requested privacy. It did not disclose the type of cancer or other medical details.

U.K. corporate records show that Radvinsky ceased to be a person with significant control of OnlyFans’ parent company, Fenix International Limited, effective March 20. The dates distinguish the corporate-record event from the public announcement and provide the clearest documented starting point for the company’s succession story.

The dates of Radvinsky’s death

The public record contains two important dates. Companies House records show that Radvinsky ceased to be a person with significant control of Fenix International Limited effective March 20, 2026. OnlyFans announced his death publicly on March 23, 2026.

The corporate filing does not function as a medical record or death certificate, but March 20 is the clearest publicly recorded date associated with the end of his control. OnlyFans said that Radvinsky died peacefully after a long battle with cancer. The company did not disclose the type of cancer, when he was diagnosed, what treatment he received or any other medical details. His family requested privacy.

Who Leonid Radvinsky was

Leonid “Leo” Radvinsky was a Ukrainian-born, Chicago-raised American technology entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. He became one of the most financially consequential private figures in the creator economy, although he maintained a far lower public profile than the platform that made him widely known.

Before OnlyFans, Radvinsky was associated with MyFreeCams, a live-camming business in the adult internet sector. He later operated Leo, a technology-focused venture-capital fund. His own biographical material described him as an investor, company builder, philanthropist and supporter of open-source software.

Accounts of his early internet businesses have sometimes included controversy or legally disputed claims. Those accounts should be treated carefully. They do not justify presenting allegations about his personal conduct as established fact, and they are separate from controversies involving OnlyFans as a company.

Radvinsky did not found OnlyFans

Radvinsky was not the founder of OnlyFans. Tim Stokely founded the platform in 2016. In 2018, Radvinsky acquired a controlling stake in Fenix International Limited, the parent company associated with OnlyFans, and became its majority owner and a key director.

That distinction matters because Radvinsky’s role was primarily one of ownership and control. The most consistently supported descriptions of him are owner, majority shareholder, director and controlling figure—not founder, chief executive or creator of the service.

2018 Radvinsky acquired control of Fenix International Limited, the company associated with OnlyFans.
COVID-19 period OnlyFans expanded rapidly as lockdowns pushed more creators and audiences toward online monetization.
March 20, 2026 Companies House recorded Radvinsky’s cessation as a person with significant control of Fenix International Limited.
March 23, 2026 OnlyFans publicly announced his death.

How OnlyFans changed under his ownership

OnlyFans became a major direct-to-fan subscription platform during Radvinsky’s period of control. Its model allowed creators to charge subscribers for access to posts, messages, photographs, videos and other material. The relationship was more direct than the advertising-supported model used by many large social platforms: creators could build a paying audience without relying solely on brand advertising or traditional media intermediaries.

The platform’s expansion accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lockdowns disrupted conventional work and entertainment, while creators and audiences spent more time online. OnlyFans gave creators a way to package access to their work as a recurring subscription, and it became particularly prominent in adult entertainment.

That growth also helped make Radvinsky a defining owner in the creator economy. The platform was not merely another adult website. It helped normalize a broader business idea: that individuals could maintain a direct financial relationship with an audience through subscriptions, paid messages and exclusive content.

A platform with both creator autonomy and serious risks

Research on OnlyFans creators has identified several benefits of the platform model, including flexibility, autonomy, boundary-setting and the ability to decide how content is archived and monetized. Creators could set rules for access and interact with paying audiences without surrendering every commercial decision to a studio, publisher or advertising network.

Those advantages came with substantial risks. Online adult-content work can expose creators to privacy violations, identity exposure, harassment, account-security threats and the unauthorized copying or leaking of content. A creator may have control over the terms of a subscription while still having limited control over what happens after material reaches a subscriber’s device.

This tension is central to OnlyFans’ business history. The platform offered a new form of economic agency, but it also operated within a high-risk environment involving personal safety, payment access, content moderation and the possibility of permanent reputational harm.

Why OnlyFans was controversial

The word “controversial” is most defensible when it describes the platform’s public history and business context, not as an unsupported conclusion about Radvinsky personally. OnlyFans faced recurring scrutiny over content moderation, creator and user safety, privacy, financial practices and its relationships with payment providers.

Its adult-content business model brought particular pressure. Payment companies, regulators, journalists, researchers and advocacy groups all examined how the service handled prohibited material, exploitation risks, age verification, consent, moderation and the financial dependence of creators on a single platform. The company’s policies and public positioning changed over time, and the platform’s large scale made individual failures especially consequential.

That scrutiny should not obscure the platform’s wider importance. OnlyFans was part of a much larger shift toward paid digital communities and creator-led businesses. But its success also showed how difficult it is to combine a global subscription marketplace with reliable safety systems, privacy protections and payment infrastructure.

Radvinsky’s wealth and the scale of the business

Radvinsky’s wealth was linked to the value of his stake in Fenix International Limited and to dividends associated with the business. Forbes estimated his net worth at approximately $4.7 billion near the time of his death. That figure is a reported wealth estimate, not a verified probate valuation, a confirmed inheritance total or an independently audited statement of his personal balance sheet.

Business reporting and legal filings have described OnlyFans as a platform with millions of creators, hundreds of millions of fan accounts and multibillion-dollar annual transaction volume. These measurements need to be read with care. Gross payments made by fans, the platform’s net revenue, creator payouts, registered accounts and active users are different categories, and published totals vary according to the fiscal year and definition used.

For that reason, a single headline number can give a misleading impression of the company’s size. The more durable point is that Radvinsky controlled a private business operating at global scale, with a financial footprint far beyond the visibility of its owner.

What changed after his death

The first documented post-death changes concern corporate control and governance. Companies House records show that Radvinsky ceased to be a person with significant control of Fenix International Limited effective March 20, 2026. The same filing history records Yekaterina Chudnovsky as a person with significant control from that date.

Later filings record Chudnovsky’s appointment as a director, along with director appointments for Keily Helen Blair and James Stuart Sagan. These records establish a change in the company’s formal control and board structure.

They do not, by themselves, establish who inherited Radvinsky’s economic interest, whether the company is being prepared for a sale, whether a transaction has been agreed, or whether OnlyFans will change its operating policies. Earlier reports of possible discussions about selling a stake should be described as reported negotiations or exploration—not as evidence that a sale has been completed.

A private owner behind a highly visible platform

The contrast between Radvinsky and OnlyFans is the defining feature of his public legacy. OnlyFans became one of the most recognizable platforms in online media, while Radvinsky rarely occupied the public-facing role associated with a major technology founder. He did not build a conventional celebrity profile around the service, and he was not its original creator.

Instead, his influence came through ownership. He acquired control at a moment when the platform was still developing, then presided over its transformation into a global subscription business during a period of extraordinary digital growth. That position gave him influence over a company at the intersection of adult entertainment, online labor, financial technology, privacy and social media.

His death closes one chapter of that ownership story, but it does not yet resolve the company’s next one. The formal control changes are documented. The long-term ownership, management direction and strategic future of OnlyFans remain open until additional primary records or company statements clarify them.
