A 6,000-piece LEGO portrait of Donald Trump was displayed in the White House Green Room as part of its 2025 Christmas decorations, alongside a matching-scale portrait of George Washington. CNN reported the paired display when the holiday decorations were unveiled on December 1, 2025.
What appeared in the Green Room?
CNN’s Betsy Klein reported that the Green Room contained two LEGO portraits, each made with 6,000 pieces: one depicting Trump and the other George Washington. The paired works were part of a larger seasonal display, not a standalone exhibit. NTD also described a LEGO depiction of Trump among the decorations and characterized it as resembling his White House portrait; that resemblance is the report’s description, not a confirmed statement about the builders’ intended reference. How the portraits fit the 2025 holiday theme
The White House’s 2025 theme was “Home is where the heart is.” The first lady’s office described the Green Room’s inspiration as “family fun.” Other playful constructions in the room included a castle made of cards and trees made of dominoes. RTÉ also reported the theme as “Home is Where the Heart Is” while covering the decorations on December 2. RTÉ
Melania Trump, quoted by CNN from a statement on the theme, said: “The constant movement has taught me that home is not merely a physical space; rather, it is the warmth and comfort I carry within, regardless of my surroundings.”

What is known about the construction?
The reports establish the portraits’ subjects, their reported piece counts and their location. They do not name the builders or provide dimensions, building time, instructions, design methods, or the exact LEGO elements used. Nor do they identify a retail set used to make either portrait, so the display should not be taken as evidence that a ready-made Trump portrait kit exists.

CNN reported that 150 volunteers worked for one week on the overall decorations, with work beginning off-site in the Washington, DC, area on November 24. The report also cited 25,000 feet of ribbon, 120 pounds of gingerbread and more than 10,000 butterflies across the display. Those figures describe the broader holiday preparation and decorations; CNN did not say the volunteers built the LEGO portraits.
