What is LEGO Barad-dûr 10333?
Barad-dûr is the fortress of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings, recreated as a large LEGO Icons model. The set contains 5,471 pieces and carries an 18+ age rating, according to LEGO’s May 2024 announcement. It is designed as a detailed display build, with an interior as well as the tower’s imposing exterior.
When did the set come out?
LEGO Insiders received early access on June 1, 2024, followed by general availability on June 4, 2024. The June date in the original announcement is historical, not an upcoming release window.
How much does LEGO Barad-dûr cost?
At launch in 2024, LEGO listed the retail price as $459.99 in the US, €459.99 in the euro market, and £399.99 in the UK. These are launch prices, not a current cross-market price comparison. How big is the finished model?
LEGO’s May 2024 announcement gives the model’s dimensions as over 83 cm (32 in.) high, 30 cm (11 in.) wide and 45 cm (17 in.) long. The official US product page instead describes it as over 83 cm high, 45 cm wide and 30 cm deep. Because the sources use different width/depth orientations, keep their measurements paired with their source rather than treating the labels as interchangeable. The height and footprint make this a substantial display piece; allow room for the full base and a clear view of the tower.
What is inside, and what features move or light up?
The model is built in four modular sections, with interior spaces that include a weapons forge, throne room and prison. LEGO describes an automated black gate and a light brick that makes the Eye of Sauron glow. Together, these features make the build more than a static tower: the interior can be explored by section, while the gate and illuminated eye add display-focused effects.
