First identify which part is failing: Larix’s connection to YouTube, YouTube’s incoming stream health, or playback after YouTube has received the video. Run a short private or unlisted test and watch Larix and YouTube Live Control Room at the same time. Then check the stream destination, sustainable upload bitrate, Larix’s reconnect settings and Airtel’s local network diagnostics.
Why does my Larix stream keep disconnecting on Airtel data?
The symptom alone does not show that Airtel is at fault. The failure may be in Larix publishing, the mobile uplink, YouTube ingest or playback downstream of YouTube. The exact cause depends on your phone, operating system, Larix version, stream settings, location and the status message shown during the failure.
For an encoder-based YouTube stream, YouTube’s setup uses a server URL and stream key entered into the encoder. Check YouTube’s encoder setup instructions and use the status in Live Control Room to help distinguish an incoming-stream problem from a playback problem.
Diagnose the break before changing settings
Run a short controlled test
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select a private or unlisted test stream and note its current server URL and stream key.
- Enter those destination details in Larix, start a short test over Airtel mobile data, and keep Larix and Live Control Room visible or readily accessible.
- When the fault occurs, record the time, Larix’s exact status or error, and YouTube’s incoming-stream or stream-health message.
Use the two status reports to narrow the fault

Check the YouTube destination in Larix
In the setup for the intended YouTube live stream, confirm the current server URL and stream key, then copy those values into the encoder configuration in Larix. An old saved key or a URL taken from a different stream can send Larix to the wrong destination. YouTube’s encoder workflow calls for entering the server URL and stream key in the encoder; it does not establish that a particular key error is the cause of every disconnect.

If you refresh the key or switch to another scheduled stream, update Larix with the values shown for that stream before testing again. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream.
Is my upload bitrate too high for Airtel mobile data?
It may be, but a speed-test peak does not establish that the connection can sustain a live video bitrate. During a representative test, compare Larix’s actual outgoing bitrate with YouTube’s stream-health information. If the connection cannot hold the selected output, lower the video bitrate, resolution or frame rate and test again.

- Change one output setting at a time when practical, so the next test shows which change helped.
- Judge the result over a representative period and at the location where you plan to stream; mobile performance can vary by place and time.
- Do not assume there is one correct bitrate for all Airtel users. No universal value is established for every location, handset or stream.
Softvelum documents adaptive bitrate modes in Larix, but their presence does not establish a universally suitable setting for a given Airtel connection. Will Larix reconnect after mobile data drops?
Larix has configurable reconnection behavior. Softvelum documents a reconnect timeout and a “Don’t check network presence” option, as well as iOS-specific controls for reconnecting without a network, idle timeout and unsent threshold. The labels and availability can depend on platform and app version, so use the controls shown in your installed build rather than relying on a menu path from another version.

- Review the reconnect timeout and confirm it is not set to “Never” if you expect Larix to retry. On iOS, Softvelum says “Never” means Larix will not reconnect.
- Check whether the network-presence option is appropriate for your connection; its effect depends on the app’s behavior and network conditions.
- On iOS, review the reconnect-without-network, idle-timeout and unsent-threshold controls if available. These can affect whether Larix waits, retries or stops a stalled stream.
These options can change retry behavior, but they cannot guarantee a stable mobile uplink or fix a wrong destination. Consult the Larix FAQ for the documented controls.
Check Airtel’s network where and when you stream
Use Airtel Open Network to review its coverage view, data diagnostics, personalized tips and local outage information. Airtel describes the platform as providing information about tower positioning and network quality for voice and data services. Its coverage view is based on outdoor estimates; actual performance can differ because of location and surroundings. A coverage map is not proof that mobile upload will remain stable enough for live video, especially indoors.

If you need a basic connection diagnostic, Airtel’s general 4G connectivity guide suggests checking remaining data, briefly toggling Airplane Mode, restarting the phone, reviewing device settings and contacting the provider if the problem continues. These are general connectivity checks, not Larix-specific fixes.
When repeated tests still point to Airtel
Keep a note of the failure times and locations, along with Larix and YouTube’s status at those moments, and contact Airtel with that information. Airtel lists 121 for enquiries and 198 for complaints; see its customer support page.
