Billie Eilish joined Lana Del Rey during Del Rey’s headlining set at Coachella on April 12, 2024. They performed Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes” first, then Del Rey’s “Video Games.” Del Rey’s official artist channel later published the performance video on April 26.
When and where did the duet happen?
The surprise appearance took place on Friday, April 12, during the opening weekend of Coachella 2024 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival ran across two weekends, April 12–14 and April 19–21. The Associated Press reported the festival dates and location.
Eilish appeared as a guest within Del Rey’s headlining set; it was not a separately billed duet. GRAMMY.com’s recap places the songs in Del Rey’s set, while Billboard’s April 15 video description identifies Eilish as Del Rey’s surprise guest.
What songs did Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey sing?
- “Ocean Eyes” — Eilish’s song, performed first.
- “Video Games” — Del Rey’s song, performed second.
The pairing brought together one song associated with each artist. The GRAMMY.com recap identifies both songs, and Del Rey’s official performance video documents the sequence. The appearance was a live performance, not evidence of a newly released single or formal duet recording.

What did the artists say onstage?
Published accounts quote Del Rey praising Eilish, but the wording differs. TIME reports Del Rey calling Eilish “the voice of our generation, the voice of your generation,” and quotes Eilish calling Del Rey “the reason for half of you b-tches existence, including mine.” TIME’s account attributes those remarks to the artists. NME reports Del Rey using the shorter phrase “the voice of your generation.” NME’s report gives that wording.
