The characters’ troubles give the investigation emotional weight beyond the question of what happened.
The show’s interest in guilt is captured in a line from Baskaran, reported by Cinema Express: “Namakku dhan namma evlo kettavanga nu theriyum” (“Only we know how bad we are”). It is a fictional character’s line, not a statement by Pasupathy or the director.
Pacing and mystery
India Today’s review gives the series 3 out of 5 stars and says the first four episodes take too long to find their rhythm; it finds the final three more compelling as the whodunnit gathers momentum. That makes the series a better fit for viewers willing to spend time with a deliberate setup than for anyone looking for an instantly brisk procedural.
