The ceremony was Chenoweth’s first marriage. She was 55 and Bryant was 41 at the time of the wedding—and the date also happened to be Bryant’s birthday.
A private Dallas ceremony with personal touches
A friend officiated the ceremony. Chenoweth described the vows as a form of traditional vows, although she made clear that she did not plan to include the word “obey.” The couple also incorporated their Christian faith into the music, with Marissa Rosen, Crystal Monee Hall, Nikki Kimbrough, and Melinda Doolittle performing “The Prayer.” Chenoweth’s music director, Mary-Mitchell Campbell, arranged the performance and accompanied it.

A string quartet played from the balcony while guests took their seats, giving the private-residence ceremony a formal musical opening before the couple’s most unexpected participant made his entrance.
Thunder was the ring bearer—and entered to “Thunderstruck”
The couple’s rescue dog, Thunder, served as ring bearer. In a deliberately playful moment, he entered at the start of the ceremony to AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” a reference to both his name and the couple’s sense of humor.
For couples considering a similar idea, dog ring bearer accessories can include a formal bow tie, a decorative harness, or a secure ring-bearing pillow. The accessory should be comfortable and supervised; the ceremony’s symbolism matters more than asking a pet to manage the rings independently.
Chenoweth chose a pink-and-nude Pamella Roland gown
Chenoweth did not wear a conventional white wedding dress. Her custom Pamella Roland gown featured a sheer nude-and-pink overlay, a large bow at the back, and small pearl flowers across the bodice. She described the look as “simple and elegant” and emphasized that she wanted something nontraditional rather than white. Deborah Watson styled Chenoweth for the wedding, according to ABC News.
The gown is best described as a structured pink-and-nude bridal look—not simply a solid pink dress. Readers drawn to the color direction can browse a pink wedding dress for comparable nontraditional silhouettes, but those alternatives should not be confused with Chenoweth’s custom Pamella Roland design.
Bryant wore J.Crew with a Prada belt and Prada shoes. His father and father-in-law, meanwhile, wore Michael Strahan suits from Men’s Wearhouse. Those details are sometimes conflated in secondary coverage, but the reported accounts distinguish Bryant’s outfit from the fathers’ suits.
A soft pink wedding palette
The wedding’s visual design centered on a romantic palette of white, ivory, cream, soft peach, blush to medium pink, and champagne. Crystal Frasier Weddings planned and designed the event, while David Kimmel Design supplied the flowers.
The arrangements combined calla lilies, garden roses, majolica, spray roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, veronica, mums, and dark seasonal greenery. Bryant said he expected a pink-oriented wedding because of Chenoweth’s personality and preferences, making the palette feel closely tied to the couple rather than selected as a generic bridal theme.
Reception cocktails included the “Wicked Margarita”
The reception continued the personalized approach. Guests were served three specialty cocktails: the “Wicked Margarita,” a nod to Chenoweth’s iconic role as Glinda in the Broadway musical Wicked; a “Bryant Old Fashioned”; and a “Thundertini” martini.
The dinner menu leaned toward Southern comfort food. It included beef tenderloin, whipped potatoes, haricot verts, chicken, steak fries, fried pickles, pasta with chicken or meatballs, salads, and flatbreads.
The couple cut a five-tier Mexican vanilla bean wedding cake with buttercream filling. Additional sweets included Belgian chocolate bonbons, chocolate salami, and gourmet cookies from San Antonio chocolatier Nacho Aguirre of Delice Chocolatier.

Late-night food kept the reception deliberately casual: guests could have Dunkin’ and 7-Eleven Slurpees. Gift bags included NEST candles, Nivea Chapstick, Doritos, Fiji Water, and Fontus lozenges.

Bryant wanted more than a conventional DJ reception. Instruments were made available so friends could join a jam session, reflecting his work as a guitarist and musician associated with the country-rock band Backroad Anthem.
The couple’s first dance was to “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” performed by their friends Ty Herndon and Toby Freeman, with Mary-Mitchell Campbell on piano. The combination of planned performances and informal collaboration echoed the ceremony’s broader focus on live music.
Who attended Chenoweth and Bryant’s wedding?
Reported guests included Kathy Najimy, David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Kenny Ortega, Chely Wright, Jennifer Aspen, and Broadway composer Andrew Lippa. The guest list reflected Chenoweth and Bryant’s overlapping professional and personal circles, but the setting remained a private residence with a relatively close group of roughly 140 people—not a large public celebrity wedding.

Bryant proposed in October 2021 on the rooftop of New York City’s Rainbow Room. E! reported that the engagement ring was a three-stone, halo-style design.
Before marrying Bryant, Chenoweth said she had imagined herself as a lifelong bachelorette and had not expected to get married. In comments about the relationship, she credited Bryant with changing that outlook and said he made her feel confident, beautiful, and loved. Those statements describe Chenoweth’s own perspective on the relationship rather than an independent assessment of her personal history.
A wedding built around the couple’s shared world
Chenoweth and Bryant’s Dallas wedding combined traditional elements—a friend officiant, formal vows, a wedding cake, and a first dance—with details that were unmistakably theirs. Chenoweth’s non-white gown, the pink-and-champagne design, Thunder’s entrance to “Thunderstruck,” Broadway-inspired cocktails, and the reception jam session turned the ceremony into a reflection of their personalities and creative communities.
That balance explains why the wedding stood out: it was intimate without being austere, polished without being conventional, and carefully planned while still leaving room for the couple’s friends, music, rescue dog, and sense of fun.
