Kristen Bell’s Netflix series is Nobody Wants This, a comedy-romance created by Erin Foster and co-starring Adam Brody. Rotten Tomatoes listed Season 1 at 95% on its Tomatometer, based on 56 critic reviews, when checked on October 8, 2026. That is the first season’s score—not the current score for the series as a whole.
What is Nobody Wants This about?
Bell plays Joanne, an outspoken agnostic podcaster, and Brody plays Noah, an unconventional rabbi. They fall for each other and navigate the complications of dating across religious differences, alongside family dynamics and the expectations surrounding their relationship. Netflix describes the series as a fictionalized story informed by creator Erin Foster’s experience.
Foster told Netflix Tudum, “This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy.” She said she wanted to tell a Jewish story from the perspective of an adult convert, and cautioned that the series was not intended to make political statements. That context is useful when considering the show’s portrayal of Judaism and interfaith relationships.
What is its Rotten Tomatoes score?
Rotten Tomatoes’ Season 1 page showed a 95% Tomatometer from 56 critic reviews on October 8, 2026. Its Critics Consensus describes the series as a “welcome binge,” highlighting Bell and Brody’s chemistry and the show’s consideration of interfaith romance. The percentage is a live score, not a documented premiere-day snapshot, and may change as Rotten Tomatoes updates its page.

How does the Season 1 score differ from the series score?
Rotten Tomatoes lists season-specific and series-wide scores separately. The series page showed an overall Tomatometer of 87% from 112 critic reviews, while Season 2 was listed at 80%. Those values are not substitutes for Season 1’s 95%: they refer to the overall series and its second season, respectively.
