A new Knight Rider movie was reported in early development in August 2025: TheWrap said Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg were in early talks to adapt the franchise for Universal Pictures. The report did not announce a cast, plot, production schedule, or release date, so the film should not be described as in production or scheduled to arrive.
What is known about the Knight Rider movie?
In an August 26, 2025 report, TheWrap reported that Universal Pictures was developing a Knight Rider adaptation and that Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg were in early talks to work on it. The report said plot details were being kept under wraps. It did not name actors or give a release date.
That wording matters: early talks are not confirmation that a screenplay is complete, the project has entered production, or a film will reach theaters. These are reported development details, not a public production announcement.
